For the Brewers, they have Yovani Gallardo throwing for the only the second time since he tore his ACL at Wrigley.

Gallardo- 0-0, 1.88 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 20 K's

For the Phillies, they have this crafty young lefty throwing. Cole Hamels- 14-10, 3.09 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 196 K's

Just for kicks this is his wife.

Hamels has been quite dominating as of late. He has had quality starts in nine of his last 10 outings. We have to take care of our business, but honestly lets go Phillies. The Brewers made the playoffs, thats about all I can stand.

stupid cubs shoulda kicked in the brewers heads and finished them off, now we'll have to worry about them in 2nd round if we can even muster offense this year in the playoffs.

What makes you think the Brewers are a sure bet to advance?

Probably the same thing that makes people think that we're doomed because we went 3-4 on the road in the last week of the year.

While playing backups and callups and pitching Bob Soapdropping Howry in crucial spots.

People are actually scared of the Brewers? I don't know if anyone has noticed, their pitching is in shambles, and their offense hasn't been hitting very well at all. They will get swept or lose in 4 to a vastly superior team.

From rotoworld

The Brewers will start Yovani Gallardo in Game 1 of the NLDS against the Phillies.

He'll be followed by CC Sabathia on three days' rest and then either Jeff Suppan or Dave Bush. The Game 4 starter will probably be the veteran who doesn't go in Game 3, as Gallardo would have to come back on short rest to pitch then. Sabathia would be able to pitch Game 5 on four days' rest.

Looks like Sheets is in fact done for. I really dont see the Brewers getting to that 2nd CC start. I wonder how many innings Gallardo will have in him. After all, he shut down the Mightly Pirates for 4 innings, so he must be ready.

Rotoworld quotes the Milwaukee J-S in stating he "probably" won't even be on their DS roster.

Can I say Go Brewers in THIS thread?

I can't belive im less then 40 hours away from watching my 1st Brewer playoff game. I can't sleep or eat or anything.

I offically lost my playoff baseball virginity.

Im glad YoGa is starting for the Brewers instead of Suppan. Hopefully he can get through 5 or 6 but we will see.

I like facing a lefty, but it sucks its Hamels.

Other than the sweep in Milwaukee, they usually play us tough. Braun and Fielder freakin KILL us.

Although we can hang in there against CC, and if the offense is patient we should be able to get to their staff, assuming both teams make it that far.

Win or lose I dont care. I'm just happy to be able to see meaningful baseball in October for the first time in my life.

Personally I dont think the Brewers will advance out of the NLDS but you never know.

The Brewers strike me as a prime example of a "just happy to be here" playoff team.

But, you never know until the games are actually played.

Pat Burrell leaves BP today with lower back discomfort, to be re-evaluated tomorrow.

Ohh. ouch. Plz be out for the rest of the year.

Mrs. Lincoln; play.

Braun and Fielder freakin KILL us.

Braun pretty much hits against the Cubs the same way he does against the rest of the league. Fielder does have some really good #s against us.

Elcaballo - Though the end of your season reminded me a lot of the 1998 Cubs, I hope your first playoff experience ends a little better than mine did. Or my third. And I wouldn't wish my second on anyone not named Bin Laden.

Go Brewers.

The thought of the Phillies scares me. Plus I'm biased since I live in the Phillies market. I hate them so much.
