Yeah if there was ever a time to stretch him out it would be today. He's at around 90 pitches though. Would they let him throw 130 pitches with a 4 run lead?

That team had 14 pitchers that threw 15 innings or more and struck out at least 8 men per 9 innings. Some interesting names among them. Scott Williamson, Les Walrond, Will Ohman, David Aardsma, Jae Kuk Ryu, Wade Miller and even Glendon F Rusch. Prior and Wood didn't pitch much that year, but both had low K rates when they did. Strangely, Maddux and Marshall threw the 2nd and 3rd most innings on that team and both struck out in the 5's per 9.
