Can you imagine how awesome it would be if April Fukudome came back for October?

Or April Lee.

I'll go with any April 2005 Lee, July 2007 Zambrano and then you guys can pick the other months for everybody else.

August 2003 Prior. :(

September 2004 Prior.

Remember his 9 innings 2 hit, 16 k baseball that we still lost?

Didn't he take that game into the 10th? I might be Andy Petitte-ing that, but I seem to recall a game where he pitched more than 9 that year.

Edit: Nope, I'm wrong. Thank you Baseball Reference. Looking at his game log that year makes me sad.

I remember paying attention to that game on gamecast in the library and during classes. That game was so depressing.

But you can't beat his 0.69 ERA in 39 August 2003 innings.

RONNY!! Why is he even on the team?

It's really interesting to compare how the ball flies off his bat with how it comes off Theriot's.

Am I the only one who is a little upset with Soto/Ramirez/Theriot not being in the lineup tonight? If the season ended right now we'd be playing the Mets in the first round and Santana in game 1 or 2. Shouldn't we be trying to get a look at him?

Neifi Perez in late August/September 2004 hit .371/.400/.548

What a guy

Nope, 9 innings.

3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 16 K.

Remlinger and Farnsworth blew it in the 12th.

They can't look from the bench?

Thankfully the season doesn't end today. There's a distinct possibility Santana can't pitch till game 3 of the NLDS.

Also, I think Soto and Theriot really need the days off.

Soto definitely needs the day off.

Yeah because that's the exact same thing.

Either way, Santana is their best pitcher and Ramirez/Theriot/Soto have almost no experience against him. It would be nice to get a look at him and then rest them all tomorrow. I mean, we have a full wekk before the playoffs start, there is plenty of time to rest.

That's why it's important to step towards the pitcher instead of bail out... actually have the ability to do something with pitches on the outer third of the plate. Great adjustment by Fukudome.

At this rate we're going to be facing Chad Billingsley in game 3, not Santana.

Should be Kuroda.

Great game thus far by Fukudome. :D

Now Marshall's second time through the heart of the lineup...
