Buying championship gear

Does anyone else turn their attention to buying the t-shirt and hat right after the Cubs win? I've always had a thing for all the champions gear. Last year I was obsessed about getting the hat when it was in short supply, and it looks like I'm on the hunt again. I got the t-shirt last night at Sports Authority, but the guy said they sold out of the hats in 30 minutes. Anyone here have luck?

I'll buy a "back-to-back division champs" shirt if I see a design I like. Not a bad thing to commemmorate, first time it's happened and all.

Other than that, I'm waiting for the big prize.

I'll get a division champs shirt if we don't make the World Series (even though I won't be happy about it, I still like having something to commemorate the season), an NL champs shirt and probably something else if we lose the World Series, and everything possible if we win. That's been my general philosophy with all my teams for a while.

The thing about championship gear is that it's only really valid until there is another champion. It automatically dates itself. Granted, the Cubs are in a unique situation where they haven't won in 99 years, but under normal circumstances, nobody is going to care about your 2008 NL Central Champions T-shirt when there is a new 2009 NL Central champion.

i buy the locker room stuff because every since the Bulls run in the 90s I've been a fan of that kind of thing.

I always wait to see how far they go, because I don't to waste money on a divisional title hat in a league championship year, and then when they lose I'm too depressed about them to want anything at all.

That MLB logo on the hat they wore the other day completely ruins what is otherwise a decent hat. Why put it right in the middle of the bill?
