I'm pretty sure that if the Cubs win tonight, they will have their largest lead in 1st place since October 6, 1929.

 

I looked up several years to make sure I was right (2001, 1989, 1984, 1977, 1969, 1945-1929) and none of them had a lead larger than 9.5 games (in 84)

I love seeing stats like this. Reminds me just how rare and wonderful this season has been.

I didn't watch the whole game, but 3/4 runs came on Fielder homers. I'd say the rest of the lineup remains slumpish. Hopefully Jason won't help them get out of it.

 

Fielder tried to carry his teammates on his shoulders tonight, but Corey Hart and company refused to go along for the ride. Fielder's homers with his 31st and 32nd of the year. He's driven in 90 runs, which remains a pretty disappointing total.

 

Last night's quote from rotoworld, pretty much summed up the Brewers at this point. At this point, pitch around fatty, and the Brewers "offense" are more then happy to put up a 0 spot on the scoreboard. Take fatty's homeruns out of the equation, and the Cubs won last night's game very easily... The score would have been what 5-1. So again, pitch around Cecil-the Princess, and call it a night.

Is this game going to be blacked out in the Chicago area? I really don't feel like watching the game on craptastic WCIU

I'm very disappointed in all of you. I get out of a long day of court and I expect to see pictures of scantily clad girls in Cubs attire in the game thread to get me excited about tonight. But I see nothing. Shame on you all.

No idea if tonight's game will be blacked out in the Cubs or Brewers' "DMA" on ESPN, but if it is and you have D* & MLB EI, the game will be shown on ch. 740 (but no HD :cry: ).

 

No idea which channel will broadcasting on 740, as the game is not listed be to be on FSN Wisconsin. Check that, whatever station's alternate channel resides on ch 680 - guessing FSN WI - will be showing the game.

I got my fix by looking on eBay to check playoff tickets prices. Cubsman84 uses pictures of hot chicks to sell his tickets. I know it has to be someone on this board.

It shouldn't be. Past WCIU games that were also broadcast on ESPN weren't blacked out. The Mets game and the game where we just flat out embarrassed the Brewers come to mind.

 

CSN games on ESPN do get blacked out, for whatever reason.

 

I have to work for the first part of this game, but hopefully I come back to see that we're taking it to Sheets. If we win tonight, we clinch this thing tomorrow. That feels pretty darn good.
