Confirmed on the Brewer's website:

The Milwaukee Brewers today announced that Ned Yost has been dismissed from his position as manager of the Club. The announcement was made by Brewers Executive Vice President and General Manager, Doug Melvin.

"This was a very difficult move to make, and we appreciate all of the work that Ned has done to develop this team into a contender," Melvin said. "In the end, this was a collaborative decision made to put our Club in the best position for the final two weeks of the season."

Dale Sveum, the Brewers third base coach, will take over in an interim role as manager for the remainder of the season. Bench Coach Ted Simmons has been reassigned to an advisory role. Any other coaching changes will be announced later.

Could this be a little tit for tat? We quelled the excitement of them signing Sabathia by turning around and announcing the Harden signing the next day. Now, Z gets a no-no, and Milwaukee takes all of the attention away by announcing they're finally firing the very bad Ned Yost.

Dream scenario:

Walt Jocketty fires Dusty Baker.

Doug Melvin hires Dusty Baker.

Cardinals fire Tony La Russa.

Cardinals hire Ned Yost.

That's about the only thing I'd change to truly make it a dream scenario. :D

If they want to announce that Dusty will be their new manager after we win the World Series, I'll be fine with it.

Actually, I'd like to see Yost go to Cincy to replace Dusty. Cincy's talent worries me more in the coming years than the Cardinals, so let's keep a bad manager there to ruin it.
