the curse of MLB Blackout Rules means I can't watch any of this series unless they're on WGN

So, jump in the car and head for the 'Burgh. You can be there in 3 hours, no?

If I hadn't just driven by Pittsburgh yesterday, I might be tempted

I'm not letting my kids watch this.

Oh, my 7 year old has decided she's now a Red Sox fan.

I don't blame her.

What are your thoughts on Karstens was his 2 starts against the Cubs and Diamondbacks a fluke or the real deal?

The cubs win was more flukier than the DBacks win, to be sure. I (and I guess just about everybody) see Karstens as a middle of the rotation guy. Those guys throw great games from time to time, and I think he just happened to get those for his first two starts as a Pirate.

I don't think it's the norm, but I do think it will be repeated from time to time.

Fred, you have that K Wood threw 116 pitches two outings ago in your bullpen load chart. Was Dusty Baker back for that game and I missed it?

It must've been a pretty big inning for the opposing team if it took Wood 116 pitches to get out of it.

I love how some people dont know a blatent typo when they see it. It was obviosuly Bob Howry with the 116 pitch inning. Lous plan was to get Bob to throw his arm out, so that he could DL him, and therefore get him off the team, but still stand by his word that he was going to stick with him.

Maybe Julio Franco batted in that inning.

lucky guy, Fred killed the last guy who challenged his numbers. of course that was in 1894

aw.... gimme a break, man, I haven't killed anybody all week !!

Absolutely no idea why Geo is batting below Kosuke in the lineup.

Looks like another 3 BB day for Soto.

So that the order goes R/L/R/L/R/L from Rammy down through Lilly? I dunno, I'm just suggesting it.

It's crazy that we could very possibly match last year's win total before September even begins. It's not even out of the realm of possibility (but pretty unlikely) that we top it by then.

That really made how good our record is sink in.

I'm not quite sure the Cubs' record has sunk in on me yet. They have NEVER been this good in my entire life.

That's pretty much the case for just about everyone here.

I mean statistically, they have never been 30 games over .500 at any point in the season in my entire life.

That's what I meant, too. I mean, I was 1 in 1984, so that doesn't really count. I didn't even watch a Cubs game all the way through till 1995. And even for those that did "live" through 69 and 84, I don't think those teams were as good as this one, and I think their high water marks were about 32 games over, and we still have over a month to go.
