So, yea, I think it's fair to say that this is the best Cubs team that any of us have ever seen in our lives.

Except Fred.

It's crazy that we could very possibly match last year's win total before September even begins. It's not even out of the realm of possibility (but pretty unlikely) that we top it by then.

That really made how good our record is sink in.

I'm not quite sure the Cubs' record has sunk in on me yet. They have NEVER been this good in my entire life.

That's pretty much the case for just about everyone here.

I mean statistically, they have never been 30 games over .500 at any point in the season in my entire life.

That's what I meant, too. I mean, I was 1 in 1984, so that doesn't really count. I didn't even watch a Cubs game all the way through till 1995. And even for those that did "live" through 69 and 84, I don't think those teams were as good as this one, and I think their high water marks were about 32 games over, and we still have over a month to go.

They topped out at 32 over .500 in both 1984 and 1969. The last time were better than this through 130 games by winning percentage was 1945 (.628 in 1945).

I lived through 1984 and that was a very good team, this years team is better. I'll never forget going to the last game of the four game sweep of the Mets in August. Man, that was just amazing!

CUBS are 20-13 when Bruce Miles posts the starting lineup in the NSBB game thread.... 60-37 when he doesn't

Go Bruce !!!

You gotta be kidding, Fred!! Didn't know you kept that one. BTW, got a couple of e-mails from math majors today who said Cubs aren't 30 games over. 500, the'yre 15 games over .500. I should have corrected their grammar.

Absolutely no idea why Geo is batting below Kosuke in the lineup.

Looks like another 3 BB day for Soto.

So that the order goes R/L/R/L/R/L from Rammy down through Lilly? I dunno, I'm just suggesting it.

That would be my best guess as well. Lou seems to like alternating left and right, and this isn't the first time he's done this.

Wow. I didn't know that Ramirez's 63 walks are, by far, his career-high. I knew that he was walking more than in previous years but I didn't know that he already has 13 more than his previous high in 2006, when he had 129 more PA's than he does as of now.
