I wonder what our PIRD (Pirate Independent Run Differential) is...

If my calculations are correct, +143 against non-Pirate opponents, still good (by a wide margin) for first in baseball.

I think the Cubs may have a tough time scoring in this series though. Karstens has been tough this year, and has dominated RH hitters in his 4 starts so far.

I look for a low scoring game tonight,

So, much for that.

Not bad. I just remember us blowing out the Pirates A LOT.

The Cubs have beaten the Pirates this year: 10-8 in 12, 6-4 in 15, 7-3, 3-2, 13-1, 13-6, 7-4, 4-3, 12-3, 5-1, 8-5 and 12-3.

The Cubs have lost to the Pirates this year: 7-6 on a McLouth HR off Marmol in the 9th, 5-4 in 14 after Wood blew a save in the 9th, 6-5 in 11 after Marmol blew a save in the 9th, and a 3-0 shutout by Karstens.

The 6-5 loss was the game where Soriano dropped the routine fly ball in the 9th with 2 outs. Ugh

There are 3 games this year that I'm convinced we should have won. That one, the Cardinals game on the 4th of July when Wood blew a 2 run save, and the Brewers game in May where Wood blew a 2 run save. Of course there are some games that we should have lost, but let's ignore that and pretend that the Cubs record could have been 84-47 right now with a few bounces.

Didn't Wood blow a 2 run save against the Brewers earlier this year as well?

Kinda off topic, but I had a dream where Ryan Theriot hit a HR. In a different dream, the Cubs lost 250-400 against the Phillies.
