Well you're lucky. My girlfriend's family lives outside of Dallas and she was going to go down to see them and go to the game, but tickets are going for outrageous prices so I dunno if she's going to.

I'm putting Illinois at 8-4 on the year, but wouldn't be shocked to see them as good as 10-2. I think OSU and Wisconsin are clearly better, with Penn St. about equal, and after that there's not much there in the Big 10.

 

i dunno if wisconsin is clearly better. i really like their team except for their qb, and that's only the most important position on the field. they're gonna struggle with teams that don't let them run at will.

 

It's the same story year in, year out. The Badgers will have a strong running game, good offensive line, good receivers, capable at the least defense, and a QB who is mediocre at best.

 

If they ever got a good QB, they'd be a yearly national title contender.

 

Sooo true. Their Qb is always solid but yet doesnt have it to win multiple games by himself. Perenially underated football program, probably because they dont have ooh and ahhs when it comes to recruits out of HS, thats the only thing i can think of why they dont get more attention than they deserve. IF they can land a highly rated HS pro style Qb they might really have something, dude would probably have to hail from WI but hey they might land some guy who wants to start as a fresh.

 

They do a very good job of recruiting guys along the OL and DL. Typically they can snag underrated recruits at WR, LB, and RB.

 

For whatever reason, they never seem to pull in 4-5 star QB recruits. It's a bit of a head-scratcher, imo.

i'm looking forward to mizzou-oklahoma. it'll be interesting to see of mizzou can take them this year; they certainly have the talent to do so IMO.

 

It's going to be a retardedly high scoring game. I mean, how many deep balls did Illinois beat them with? im sure some of that was due to mizzou not expecting illinois to come out throwing like they did, but still, no excuse for a top-10 team to be getting thrown on like that by juice williams of all people.

 

Our offense is going to be flat our ridiculous this year, but our defense has some important holes. I wouldn't be shocked to lose that game, but I also wouldn't be shocked to win it like 50-40.

Losing Curtis Pulley really hurt, in my opinion. I honestly don't know a lot about Hartline, but I've always thought Pulley was pretty good. Am I out of line there?

 

I'm pulling for Randall Cobb, by the way. I watched him absolutely run over one of the HS teams I cover for two years while at Alcoa and it'd be nice to see him do well in college (just not against Tennessee :wink: ).

 

Pulley was gifted as an athlete, he was to be what Shane Boyd was not as far as being an athletic QB that could throw.

 

It's a loss, they don't have any good QBs until next year with the recruit from TX. Hartline doesn't have a strong arm, hopefully will be accurate enough not to cost them games. They are hoping to run the ball and have the defense win them games. Damn, I'm describing the Bears.

Rich Brooks has always beena defensive 1st coach, this is the 1st time since arriving that he has a good enough defense. The games vs. Georgia/UF/etc they will get upon regardless but vs. Vandy/MSU those are the games from years past where UK can win games defensively.

Right now the plan is to just play golf and watch the game somewhere. Being the weekend after OU don't want to spend a couple hundred on the game. Being in Austin is good enough.

4*Qb Tate Forcier visited Michigan this weekend and ended up committing after the game. Im sure after seeing the awful qb play he was like yup i can start next year. It was so bad it was good. Too bad his brother transfered a couple years ago, he would be a good fit and the starter this year. They also got another midget to commit, damnit RR likes the midgets.

Yeah, you guys are definitely best traveling non-Rose Bowl team since Alabama or Michigan early this decade (granted, UCLA generally hosts the likes of Fresno State or Utah this time of year :roll: ). Starbucks in Old Town was packed with orange this morning, and a few of them even smiled at me despite my UCLA hat.

 

I'm really excited even though I'm expecting we get blown away. Last weekend was lots of fun but it's always better when your team finally starts playing.

Starbucks in Old Town was packed with orange this morning, and a few of them even smiled at me despite my UCLA hat.

 

I'm really excited even though I'm expecting we get blown away. Last weekend was lots of fun but it's always better when your team finally starts playing.

 

Keep in mind, a lot of seasons we're playing the likes of MTSU and UAB this time of year so it's exciting to get a prestigious (though down) team like UCLA this early.

 

I'd say our fans are looking for a little revenge too, after struggling as bad as we did at Cal last year. We want to prove our superiority to you left coasters. :D

 

And I am definitely read for college football to officially start tonight.
