This makes me want the Dodgers to win that division even more now.

Agreed, though I'm not sure the Dodgers are going to be able to do it.

Has anyone taken the time to compare the Dodgers and DBacks schedules to see who should win that division?

Here are the differences in their schedules down the stretch:

Arizona

3 v. Florida

3 v. St. Louis

3 v. Cincy

4 v. San Francisco

4 @ St. Louis

Los Angeles

3 v. San Diego

3 v. San Francisco

4 @ Philadelphia

3 @ Washington

4 @ Pittsburgh

They also have 6 games left against each other, 3 in LA and 3 in Arizona. Looks like LA has some easier opponents, but plays more games on the road.

Dunn is second to only Carlos Lee in Cub-killerdom and would be a depressing move for the Cubs sake. Dunn will hit at least 2 HRs against us in the NLDS if he does in fact go to Arizona.

Obviously from a pitching perspective the Cubs would be better off facing LA. But I'd be more worried about Manny than Dunn offensively.

Is it fair to call this an example of Colletti's incompetence? I'm amazed he wasn't on top of this. He could have put in the waiver claim then offered little more than a b-level prospect to keep him out of AZ.

If there's one thing LA needs it's more corner OFs.

Dunn and Manny would make fly balls in LA just so much more fun to watch though.

That's why they offer little more than a b-level prospect, knowing they would pull him back instead. If they actually got Dunn for a b-level prospect, then it was well worth it. You don't have to have good intentions of making a fair trade when you put a waiver claim on a guy.

No kidding. I can't think of a team in MLB that wouldn't be able to find a spot for Adam Dunn if they got "stuck" with him on a waiver claim.

I'd do it just for the comp picks.

I look at this both two ways:

1. We destroy Cincinnati in the last 6 games with no pop in there lineup whatsoever.

2. Lets pray that the D-backs don't make the playoffs that big bat in there line-up is scary

3. Lets go dodgers lets go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First: In the matter of a few days, the Cubs no longer have to face either Carlos Lee or Adam Dunn (plus no Bay) for the rest of the season. Which means unless the Cubs go "Epic Failure", the Cubs should win the division easily, now.

Second: It sucks that Cub Killer Dunn is now with one of the teams that loves to kill the Cubs. Which means we must become bandwagon Dodgers fans. And seeing the Dodgers are 5-7 against the D'Backs, there still hope that they can outlast the DBacks. But if not, we have to just "do our thing," and not worry who we are potentially facing in the playoffs.

Nonetheless I won't worry about the DBacks if or when the Cubs have to face them in the playoffs.

Agreed.....but they are the one team I would be worried about in the playoffs and now just added one of the most feared bats in the majors

I wouldn't concede the title to the Cubs yet... Brewers still have 7 against the Padres, 9 against the Pirates, 3 against the Reds, and 3 against the Astros

I can't believe another team didn't put in a claim on him.

Baseball "people" are so myopic sometimes. The guy is a game changer almost every time he makes contact with the baseball.

I am laughing so hard at the Reds. Dusty Ball, catch it! He's going to have the worst punch-and-Judy-no-walk-line-up in baseball.

They've already quit on him, according to "the Cowboy". Maybe they're getting rid of the malcontents.

I knew when they hired Bazasi (sp) it would be a good thing for us Cub fans.

Let me weaken my statement a little bit, the road to the Division Title got alot easier.
