Screwed by Fox again

I was happy when I saw that tomorrow's game was going to be on Fox, since I normally don't get to see Saturday games here in Texas. Then I saw a commercial yesterday that showed the Yankees-Angels as the alternate game. Sure enough, I checked my Dish guide this morning and here in Dallas we don't get the Cubs game. I am so soapdropping pissed.

Nonetheless the Fox blackout is still indefensible and must be eliminated by next year. If necessary, MLB needs to inform Fox that the current contract WILL be modified to eliminate the blackout or else Fox has a 0% chance of being allowed to continue televising major league baseball after the contract expires.

I highly doubt MLB has the leverage to pull something like that off. It's going to have to be something that is advantageous to Fox. I just don't see how they couldn't get more viewers by actually allowing people to watch the game they want.

Yep, in Northern Ohio - 6 hours from Chicago and 11 from New York - I get the Yankees.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nevermind. I checked tvguide.com and it told me the yankees. When I check on my dish's program guide, it says I get cubs/cards. Awesome.

I don't even check to see who I get. Only way I get the Cubs is if they're playing the Phillies or Mets and the Yankees aren't on Fox.

I hate FOX as well, but what the hell is up with WGN now. Friday afternoon game against the Cardinals, and they aren't carrying it? Matlock is on for God sakes. WGN is pretty lackluster with any coverage nowadays.

I, too, hate fox. 3:05 games are the worst to work. With night games at least you have your mornings free to do whatever. Day games - you have your nights free. But these stupid 3:05 games ruin your whole day. You leave too early to really do anything worthwhile in the morning but you get home to late to really do anything either.

Oh boy I just looked at TVguide.com and they say I'm going to get the Cubs/Cardinals!! This is great news since as of Thursday I get the local Fox channel and ESPN in HD the next two Cubs games will be my first in HD. \:D/

Panamanian TV has the right game on this afternoon...I tried my MLB.tv first, nothing, then turned the TV on, so have Ron & Pat on the computer and the TV muted. Life is good after all.

I guess I should thank Fox for not showing the game here yesterday. Oh well, I ended up scoring free tickets to Ozzfest anyway. I would have missed the game regardless.
