Are there any major corner OFers (other than Manny) going FA this year?

I haven't heard much. But it would be nice to move Fuku to CF (if he's willing) and get a .900 OPS bat in RF.

If Fuku takes a leap in power next year - icing on the cake.

I'd like to move Sori to RF, Fuku to CF, and sign Dunn. =P~

Man, Reed Johnson was such a good solid pickup. I'd love to see him back next year to platoon with Fukudome in CF.

We'll definitely re-sign him next year, probably try the platoon with Pie out again. He may not be Carlos Quentin or Josh Hamilton, but he was one hell of a pick up off the trash heap.

He's maintaining his solid numbers against lefties, and that's good enough for me. I'd rather Fukudome gets moved to center for a platoon so that a big bat can be added as a corner OFer to slide into the #3 slot and Lee hits #2 or #5.

It all depends on whats available and how much Mr. Cuban wants to spend. Personally, Id like the put all our free agency eggs in 1 basket this offseason and go after K-Rod, however, I dont think the Angels will let him go. He'll get a record shattering contract for a reliever for sure.

I take it youve given up on Pie?

Fukudome's not going anywhere due to his contract. I'd rather maximize him and Johnson in CF where their combined production would likely be fine or better and get a more productive power corner OFer. Lee simply isn't a #3 hitter at this point.

Karstens has a perfect game through 5 1/3 innings against Arizona

I was never very high on his approach/hitting style. I know he has produced at every level but even in the minors, he is not exactly my kind of player. That said, I'd be glad to see him get a solid shot to play for once, but I'd be even more glad to have a really good player (but not some crappy vet) take that opportunity away.

I would be up for throwing all the money to get Sabathia or someone. No team could touch us.

I'm so glad that Dusty isn't the manager of the Cubs. If that were the case, Reed would have already gone Todd Hollandsworth on us and won the CF job against righties and lefties.

That is seriously way beyond the last thing we should even consider doing.

That would be incredibly dumb.

that would be a good way to cement our dominance, even leaving the position players alone.

But if there's anything the Cubs need, it's a third closer.

Wait, why would we put all our eggs in one basket trying to get a reliever in the offseason? I don't get it.

How about Milton Bradley? Everyone on his board has wanted him for the past few years, and I think he only signed a 1 year deal with Texas.
