Injury delay? what happened?

Theriot took a fowl off the foot. He ran OK, but they'll probably take him out to be safe.

A chicken landed on his foot? ;)

Sorry. I couldn't resist.

Theriot fouled a ball off his foot at about the speed of sound.

Good thing we have the off day tomorrow. Riot would need it. That's going to be sore for a while. Sure hope there's not a hairline crack in there.

He punted a chicken. Good hang time.

Are there any other players that have 1 team they absolutely own as much as Carlos Lee, and Adam Dunn do to us? The closest thing that comes to mind is Justin Moneau to the White Sox.

They both are just pretty good players so its less surprising that they are good when they face us

There are other lamer players that own us

As far as that poll gos, there is only 1 right answer.

And whatever became of O'Malley?

What's the question and who is Ryan O'Malley?

How can you not remember the great Ryan O'Malley?

Not a true Cubs' fan. Go sit in the corner.

Favorite Cubs vs. Astros moment

Woods 20 k game

Sammys 66th HR

a comeback from 9-0 in 1989

Ryan O'Malleys debut

I forget the 5th option.

Anyone who stuck with the team until the bitter end in 2006 knows the name of one of the bright spots that year, Ryan O'Malley

hey i thought that o'malley game was pretty awesome, with his mom and dad there and a bunch of other family members. took an extraordinary set of circumstances to get him a start in the majors, and then he had a charmed start with hard hit balls hit right at fielders.

how many people really stuck with that team? i remember game threads that were 2 or 3 pages long, mostly fred doing play by play for himself. they were a complete waste of time to follow (except on rich hill days).

I'll say one thing, it was a lot less stressful to watch the team at the end of 2006. Losing was expected. If they won, it was gravy. But if they blew a 5 run lead, it wasn't really a big deal because you hated pretty much everyone on the roster.

You have the little pests like Augie Ojeda and Aaron Miles who we can never get, but not like Lee and Dunn.

There were a few of us. Sometimes Fred's PBP was uninterrupted for entire pages, but we were there. Even if you didn't post obsessively in game threads doesn't mean you didn't follow the team on a day to day basis. Sure if just about anything came up, I would not watch the game and check the box later, but if I was home it was still always on. I was at work listening to the O'Malley game on the radio. The night before I managed to stay up until 12:45 to watch that 17 inning game (or whatever it was). We swept that series IIRC.
