My only real BIG concearn about this team is the streakiness of Lee & Ramirez. Sure soriano comes and goes but when Dee and Aram are off they are horrible in the 3 and 4 spots. Not huge now but in a 5 game playoff series........

 

If any team's 3 and 4 hitters go in a slump in a five or seven game playoff series, chances are that team will be in some trouble.

 

Yeah and if Sori/Aram/Lee get hot like they did last sept is all over. This years O is so much deeper it would be sick if those 3 got hot at the same time.

 

If that happens and our pitching is like they are supposed to be we're champs.

Edmonds has raised his OPS this year combined with the Padres and Cubs to .788

 

Pretty incredible.

That's the thing that scares me about the Cubs. Last October, the offense went completely cold. Last week the Cubs offense went completely cold. If this happens again in October, it doesn't matter how good our pitching is.

 

That said, the Cubs have a deep enough bench that they can make adjustments if certain hitters aren't cutting it in October.
