We won the game nobody thought we could win. We won the game we all hoped we could win. Now we need to go out and win the 2 games we should win.

While Parra is no Sabathia or Sheets, dont underestimate him. Hes quietly become a very solid number 3 starter for the Brewers. It would be great to pick up a win here and let Harden lead us to the sweep tommorow.

The Cubs haven't done much against Parra at all - try 1 hit

Hopefully Jimmy E's back in the lineup tonight

EDIT: Parra's a LHP, so probably not

I trust Dempster

Go Cubs!

Parra's a pretty good pitcher, this will be another tough game.

Hopefully the Cubs continue to be patient and get into the Brewers bullpen.

Parra gives up too many baserunners to have this good an ERA. He's prone to walking people, so good at bats are in order. Same formula as Sheets, have good at bats, hit the ball hard, break it open after multiple trips through the order, except they don't have to swing so often cause Parra won't be near the plate as much.

Isn't he a 5-6 inning pitcher too? Hopefully we can get him to throw a lot of pitches early and get him out of the game.

BTW, since May 3rd Parra is 2.93 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP. The WHIP is still rather high to sustain that ERA (Carlos Zambrano aside), but those numbers are pretty solid.

He hasn't gone 8 in a game this year, but he's gone 7 in 4 of his last 9 starts. He's bound by his pitch count, which can get up there since he has a near 4.5 BB/9. We work the count, and Parra won't go past the 6th, even if we aren't able to score much on him.

Since July 11th, he has a 3.86 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. His walk rate has greatly improved to just 5 in his last 21 innings. But he is starting to give up hits. He had won 6 straight starts, but since the Brewers have lost 3 of his last 4 starts.

I'd love if we pound him like we pounded Sheets, except earlier in the game so its not in doubt as long.

Serve up 8 or 9 runs, plz.

I am hoping for an early blowout tonight. My softball team is meeting out tonight to watch the game - and being in Brewer country - they love to put the crap on me when the Brewers beat the Cubs, so the sooner the Cubs can put this one out of reach the better.

win this game and it's 20 games over.

then it would be Harden going for 21 over... that guy never gets a break :(

It be nice to finally get Harden a win, get to 21 over and sweep the Brewers at the same time. But you got to win tonight to complete the last two.

How many different times have the Cubs been 20 games over .500 this season? They've never been able to get to 21 over.

I believe we're 0-5 when going for 21 games over.

Alright Cubs with 2 games remaining in June you are 13-11. You have yet to go .500 in a single month this year, so you must win at least 1 of the last 2 to keep the streak alive.

Thank you and beat Parra, he may be pretty good but he's coming off his first loss of the year and he isn't Sabathia or Sheets, so don't worry about him throwing 120+ pitches or wait maybe Yost will ruin his arm too in the long run?

"The pressure is on them this year; all the expectations are on them. We're just going out and having fun." -- Ryan Braun, July 27

Love the new carefree comedy routine, Braun. Last night's exceeded my expectations; how about an encore?

Hopefully we get another nice outing from Demp, and the bats stay hot. Keep it rolling, boys!
