In explaining why his comments do not deserve a response, I would like to call upon the wise philospohy of one Katt Williams:

"Live your m'fing life. Get your hustle on. Understand people are gonna hate you regardless. Get that out of your head, that fantasy world where people ain't hating on you. You gotta be grateful. You need haters. WTF are you complaining about? WTF do you think a hater's job is? To hate. So let them do their job. WTF are you complaining about? Ladies if you got 14 women hating on you, you need to figure out how the hell to get to 16 before the summer gets here. Fellas, if you got 20 haters, you need 40 of those m'fers. WTF are you complaining about? If there are any haters in here right now that don't have anybody to hate on, feel free to hate on me. Sit back and say my hair ain't luxurious when you know it is, b*tch."

A big reason this year is that when the Cubs and Reds played earlier in the season, an Adam Dunn homer went over the stands and 15 or so goofballs threw baseballs back on the field. It was dumb. However, Marty on his play by play said stuff like "this just proves what I've always said, Chicago Cubs fans are some of the worst in the league, etc."

Unfortunately, he failed to mention that Cincinatti players are some of the worst in the league.

You evidently haven't heard him rail against Adam Dunn.

At the risk of being labeled something for not already knowing this, what is the story behind Brennaman and his hatred of the Cubs and/or Cubs fans?

Have you ever listened to him.................... he hates everything

I like Griffey's comments in the article. Pretty funny stuff.

"Nice knowin' ya."

"Just paint a target on yourself."

Ha. Good stuff Griff.

I don't think the average Cub fan knows who Marty Brennaman is, or cares for that matter. If another player or manager made those comments they may get some grief, but an announcer? Give me a break.

See, you miss the whole point. He is a paid employee of the Reds organization. He is the "voice" of Reds baseball. He is paid to announce an event, not to spew bigotry upon a group of people and a team. I am not condoning the actions of the idiots mind you, but you expect a high level of professionalism from a HOF broadcaster....

Maybe he's just trying his best to create a rivalry between the Cubs/Reds? The Reds play on the field isn't conducive to one so maybe he thought he'd fire off some stupid lame comments to get one going and since they're losing yet once again he's just trying in the only way he knows how, ignorance.

" they know where they can find me," Brennaman said

The tanning booth?

Ha! Either there or the closest Don Imus look alike contest.

He's Thom's dad, of course.

Thom Brennaman?

No, he was a Cubs broadcaster(TV & radio) during the early to mid 90's.

I think he left because he was working FOX network broadcast too and the Cubs didn't want him to do that.

Was it Thom Brennaman or Josh Lewin that Harry allegedly ran off hoping Chip would be hired?

Josh Lewin.....the thing is that the Cubs offered the job to Chip and he turned it down and for some reason Harry still held it out on Lewin. In Steve Stone's book, Where's Harry? there is a pretty detailed account of the happenings.
