I just assumed the Pirates might have atleast a little bit of a following

Your primary error.

Yeah I'm a big baseball fan and I have been to Victory Field maybe 10 times. Though when I was a kid I won the seat contest twice and went down to the dugout to get a team autographed ball. Can't remember who was all on the team, I do remember Pokey Reese.

chumbleys beer house in broadripple used to be a cubs bar

Chumley's, Joe's on 86th St., Ale Emporium, Fox and Hound or Champps should all have the game tomorrow in the Indy area.

I'd prefer not to make that drive although I do like Chumley's...I know Joe's and Bubbaz over in Camby will be playing it. They always have the Cubs games on. Its not like Indy has another baseball team to root for. I was talking about a house party, and while I will be going to one later that night looks like I'll be all my lonesome unless I wanna watch it with non Cubs fans. Not a big deal.

No Pirates fans with their AAA team there? I know that their minor league system isn't very good, but I just assumed the Pirates might have atleast a little bit of a following in Indy.

Their parent team changes so often that it's hard to ever really get a following for a major league team based on the Indians. The Reds, Brewers, and Pirates have all had Indy as their AAA affiliate in the last 10 years.

Not sure if it's b/c it's still early morning, but the mlb.tv schedule doesn't make it clear to me that this game will definitely be available. It shows the symbols for the blacked-out games, but there are no symbols denoting availability for other games..

I was at Victory Field last night and noticed like, maybe, 4 Pirates fans amongst the packed crowd.

p.s. it was nice to get to watch a minor league ballgame at a real minor league ballpark...stupid greer stadium, blah.

Only the gray boxes are blacked out. You're good to go.

Then why isn't the game available on Extra Innings?

I don't have extra innings, so I have no idea. But I've never been blacked out of a game on mlb.tv that didn't have that dumbass little gray box beside the feeds. Today had better not be the exception.

I've got Extra Innings and every 12:05 start this year has been blacked out. I don't know why this one would be any different.

I believe one of the 12:05 games was on WGN so I was able to watch that, but all CSN aired 12:05 games have been blacked out.

That's weird. I guess they have different blackout criteria between the two medias. mlb.tv has carried every game this year with the exception of 3:55 Saturday starts and Sunday night games. My cable company doesn't offer EI, but that will be something I'll keep in mind if I ever decide to buy EI in the future.

Werd...if I don't get this game (whether b/c of blackout or typical mlb.tv streaming ineptness), someone is gonna get hurt...very badly--I'm looking at you FOX & MLB.

Extra innings rule is that all Saturday games that start before 6p CT will be blacked out. They could start the game at 9 AM and EI wouldn't pick it up on a Saturday.

I've been surfing around a bit, and it looks like EI folks are out of luck, but the game will be on mlb.tv.

Yeah it's got to be blacked out on EI. I distinctly remember this situation 2 times earlier this year and the 12:05 saturday game was blacked out.

And what have the gods of Fox deemed to be a game that I should watch today? Oh yes, wait for it........Diamondbacks @ Phillies.

FOX FREAKING SUCKS!!

...even Brewer fans would rather watch the Cubs game so they can root against the Cubs. Duh?!? Idiots.

Not that you need me to, but I will vouch for you on those earlier blackouts. EI hasn't shown a game before 6 pm CDT all year. As someone else mentioned, WGN has shown one or two that started at 12:05 pm CDT, but those aren't under DirecTV's control. If Direct is manning the button (EI), we won't see it if they start before 6 pm central.

So..I was watching the game at BDubs today so I didn't have chance to fully analyze every pitch and what not.

Can anyone tell me if he was mainly using Fastball/Changeup? With a few sliders? With no sliders?

Thanks.

I'm glad that the organization seems to understand that having Harden healthy for the playoffs should far and away be the number one priority. Having him during the regular season will be nice, but he's the kind of guy who sohuld be a BIG difference maker come october, especially in the short series. The only two teams in the league right now that have a 1-2 top of the rotation that matches up with Zambrano/Harden are Milwauakee (who we can't possibly play in a 5 game series) and Arizona. If we can make the playoffs with Harden and Z healthy and avoid Arizona, I like our chances of at least reahcing the NLCS.

All I can say is he mixes speeds ridiculously well. The fastball was between 91-98 (gun probably was a little hot) which made the changeup even more devastating. The Giants were completely guessing all day long. I know it was the Giants, but his stuff is ungodly.

Who am I to argue?

"He dialed up some serious heat towards the end, so this looks like a guy who has figured out how to pitch in a way that's compatible with his physical make-up. Or limitations."

This was something I sort of noticed with his last outing and in the graphs of his previous outings, but Harry nailed it, I think. Harden's fastball dips in the middle innings, but he may very well be saving it for later on if he needs to use it. Let's hope that Harden and his PC out in Oakland really figured out a good plan of attach for him to keep his arm healthy for the entire season while remaining very effective.

And as Harry said, that change-up is not fair.
