Avoiding my Cub fan friend who'll be writing off the season all night.

It seems like avoiding this board would be a good idea too.

Rick Ankiel flames out, gets injury and mental problems that he can't work out, and promptly becomes one of the best power hitting outfielders out there.

Seriously, this makes no sense. There is absolutely no reason for him hitting as well as he has been unless steroids, voodoo, or body snatchers are somehow involved.

We already knew HGH was involved, so that's .333.

I keep waiting for Jose Canseco to write a tell-all book about how Tony LaRussa is essentially an unlicensed pharmacist who supplies all his players with enough amphetamines, HGH, steroids, and horse tranquilizers to kill a herd of bull elephants.

Blech Woody, got to throw strikes. Yea Aramis!

Ted Lilly has been a much better pitcher than I ever expected before the Cubs signed him. Z's back! Marmol looked great. Theriot continues to shock the ever living hell out of me. There's a lot to be happy about. I'm not worried a bit.

Cuck the Fardnials and TBFIB.

It's going to take me awhile to get over this loss. A normal loss stings me from about 20 mins - 2 hours depending on the importance of the game. I don't think I'll be right for the rest of the day.

enough drugs to kill a herd of elephants and yet only the crappy pitchers ever seem to die. still more cardinal pixie dust.

Yet the win last night was no big deal. the doom and gloom around here is so pathetic.

I'm more of a skol man personally.

skol has its place, but now that i have more than six dollars in my pocket, that place is not inside me.

Doom and gloom? Jesus we just lost a soul crushing game. Who the hell isn't really upset right now? This has nothing to do with perspective and the grand scheme of things

Meh I'd rather have a 2.5 game lead than a 4.5 game lead anyways.

This loss should piss me off more than it does. I think since I didn't get to watch the game and was only able to catch bits and pieces of it, I'm not as angry as I would normally be.

Damn...I wanted to be certain to win this series. Now we gotta win tomorrow night.

Why is a road win over the team directly below us in the standings no big deal, but a loss is a soul crushing experience?
