While Hoffpauir has been impressive in his 35 major league AB's so far, it is a small sample size. Their minor league numbers are similar, and Hoffpauir has played at an older age throughout his career than Fontenot.

Well that must have been a shamworthy striking out of the side. No way could it have been earned.

Obviously he paid off the Orioles. He's just not very good unfortunately.

Thats fine, Fontenot still seems to be taking the place of the useless light hitting stupid middle infielder. Its nice to only have one instead of several, but still, how about none?

 

not realistic. if you're going to have a backup middle infielder, he's almost certain to be a lousy hitter. take a look around baseball and see how many teams have a solid hitter who can come off the bench and play shortstop. if the guy can hit and play SS/2B, he's already starting.

It's debatable, but I'd still give Marmol the nod with the best stuff. although lately, I trust Woody more.

But I would put Wood in the top 5 in baseball. Nice problem to have.

I'll still take Hoff. He's got some upside in terms of hitting for power in the bigs because of his size. Fonty doesn't.
