Notre Dame headed to the NIT after losing to West Virginia. They probably needed to be 10-8 with their crappy RPI, so they'd now need to win out including a home game with Nova and a trip to UConn.

 

Big props to West Virginia's student section which chanted "Luke's a (six-letter gay slur)" the entire game. Really original. Really classy. He's better than anyone on your whole damn team, you punks. 26/13 while our guards took turns turning the ball over the entire game and our other forwards decided to let WVU set world records for offensive rebounds.

I think their at-large chances are now gone.

 

Yep, they're done.

 

I think the committee will consider the fact that Curry did not play that game, and should he be healthy when the tournament goes around, that loss would not mean anything.

And saying that is somehow more classy than what they were saying to him? Don't get mad at someone else being classless if you aren't going to be either.

But can they really just wipe out an entire loss when it's by 18 at home to a bad team? They can win out and grab an at large level seed, but with another loss to a bad team(conference tourney), they're toast.

I would assume Curry will come back for conference tourny. If so they get auto bid.

Michigan is hitting all their 3's right now and have a 15-point lead going into halftime. Gotta keep it up in the 2nd half.

Michigan looking good. They seem to be reinventing their offense into a running offense. They are grabbing rebounds, finding the outlet and taking it right up the court.

 

If Michigan wins, I think it jumps ahead of Minnesota in the eyes of voters

 

They'd both have 7-7 Big Ten records, and in terms of teams they've beaten, its very similar.

 

Michigan has beaten:

Illinois

Iowa

Penn State

Northwestern (2x)

Indiana

Minnesota (if win)

 

Minnesota has beaten:

Ohio State

Iowa

Penn State

Wisconsin

Indiana (2x)

Illinois

 

So it goes back to non-conference. Minnesota went 12-0, but they played cupcakes besides Louisville. Michigan lost 3 times, but the losses were close ones to Duke, Connecticut and Maryland, all decent teams.

 

Then you see Michigan is 3-2 in their last 5, while Minnesota is 1-4 in their last 5 and it becomes clear Michigan should be ahead of Minnesota in the eyes of the selection committee.

Michigan can't afford to slip up at Iowa this weekend especially when Iowa will be without Tate and probably Peterson (starting PG).

What a solid, much-needed win. And I used to really dig Brockman's game but man, what a douche. Body slams Jrue with 5 seconds left, down 10. That whole team is dirty.

 

Four teams tied for losses at the top of the standings in the Pac-10.
