the officiating has been pretty horrendous on both ends. virtually anything qualifies as a charge. still not over. hope we can hold on.

 

thats what i was saying to a friend. the reffing isnt the reason we're playing awful, but the reffing is garbage in it's own right.

Talking to a few people that were there, it doesn't sound like it was a full-out storm of the court. I guess after the buzzer went off the players ran over to the student section to celebrate and the fans kind of poured out around them, which eventually moved to the court. Still lame, but not as lame as saying "[expletive] it, let's go!" Maybe TT can shine some light on it.

It should be reserved for huge upsets and when you win a championship. If you do it all the time it will lose its coolness.

That's a good explanation, they didn't move to center court until there were just so many students that it was necessary. It doesn't really matter to me either way because it's Kansas. And really, screw Kansas.

 

And that was an awesome time. My head hurts with how loud it got in there near the end.

I'm not against storming the court at all. If we weren't ranked coming into this game, or weren't as high as we ended up getting in the latest polls, it would've been fine. However, since we were three spots behind kansas in one poll and one behind them in the other, it wasn't something I really wanted to see us do. We're trying to get back to being a nationally-recognized program (for things other than Quin Snyder's drugs, hair, illegal recruiting, etc.), and IMO people don't really take you seriously if you're storming the court after your #17 team beats the #16 team.

 

But as myself and TT said, it wasn't really a full-out storm, so it's no harm no foul in my opinion.

I think most schools would've stormed the court if their team had won on a last second shot against their rival school after being down 14 at the half. Not to mention this win basically assured us of a trip to the tourney.

It's Missouri's version of the national championship. Of course they rushed the court.

Dude your team just had a huge win over your biggest rival, will be going to the NCAA's for the first time in 5 years (as a good seed likely), will be ranked in the top 15 next week and you're worrying about making a case for why it's okay to rush the court.

 

If I were in your position, I really wouldn't care. In fact I'd be telling them to charge that biatch.

i know i'm really late here, but are you talking about the play from the missouri game last night? the one where the player blatatanly elbowed the ref as he walked by? it that's not a technical i dont know what is.
