Preseason top 5 time!

No. 1 UNC - Easiest preseason no. 1 in history?

No. 2 UCONN - Four starters back, including that 8'10 mutant Hasheem Thabeet

No. 3 Louisville - Experienced, almost beat UNC in the tourney last season

No. 4 Pittsburgh - Blair, Fields and Young are all back

No. 5 I don't know, dammit. Michigan State could be a trendy pick with Allen, Summers and Lucas back. UCLA lost a lot, but they return a lot of talent, too.

Preseason All-American team

Darren Collison, Stephen Curry, James Harden, Tyler Hansbrough, Hasheem Thabeet (honorable mention: Damion James, love his game)

Top 5 incoming freshmen

BJ Mullens (makes all ugly team, too), Samardo Samuels, Jrue Holliday, Demar DeRozan, Willie Warren (homer pick)

Good, I wouldn't mind Harangody staying a tad under the radar again.

Hasheem Thabeet is not good, BTW. Just a guy who throws himself around and blocks shots. There were many Huskies that worried me more than him.

he almost did 10/10/5, not many centers around that are better than he is. if he improves half as much as he did before last season, he'll be a lotto pick.

I doubt Michigan St. is that high. I know in SI and ESPN Purdue is rated as like 4 and 9. I am so pumped for the Maui invitational match up of them vs. Duke. I wanted to see them play them last year. Two evenly matched teams.

You guys drew Duke? Hmm...that should be interesting. For whatever reason ND got the honor of being the first big-name team to crush IU this year in the first round of Maui. I'm hoping they get to play UNC or Texas to beef up their strength of schedule, which will be better this season, but still kinda mediocre outside of UCLA.

Err, Purdue/Duke is the ACC/Big Ten challenge, not Maui.

Oh yeah my bad....That should be a great match up though...We literally match up the same defensive minded teams that can shoot and are kind of undersized

i'll go out on a limb and guess it won't be played in West Lafayette

Duke is coming to Purdue this year.

color me shocked. Duke almost NEVER plays an OOC game outside of North Carolina

Purdue, Purdue? Or Indianapolis, Purdue?

The B10/ACC Challenge is pretty much the only time they do so.

And the game is in West Lafayette.

crazy it's in West Lafayette and not Indy. There's plenty of time to change that though.

On one of my birthdays, my wife took me to the Duke vs. DePaul game at the United Center. Yeah, DePaul got spanked. That was the Duke team with Brand, Battier, Langdon, Avery, Maggette.....it was ugly

i wont even try to back up the Blue Devils on their lack of road games.

Notre Dame hadn't played a true road game out of conference since December 2005 prior to this year's scheduled trip to Loyola Marymount.

So I have no room to say anything.

but my thing is that it probably hurts the team in march and april.

also i will complain about the fact the coach K has had 9-10 players that he could include in a rotation, but sticks with 7-8. Then we wonder why we wear down in April.

Still, the biggest thing that has hurt them the last few seasons has been their lack of a post presence.

Duke's in the same preseason tournament as us this year (the 2K Sports Coaches vs Cancer Tournament). Even though we'd probably lose, I'd still like to face Duke to see what we have against them.

KU landed Thomas Robinson (the #7 PF, #20 player overall) and Elijah Johnson (#6 SG, #25 player overall.)

Looking to add possibly two more players. We're definitely hoping for one of Xavier Henry (#1 SG, #4 overall), Dominic Cheek (#3 SF, #15 Overall), or Michael Snaer (#5 SG, 22 Overall.)

And we're still in on John Wall (#1 PG, #2 Overall.)

I think getting Wall is unlikely given we got Johnson, who will probably be more a PG. And as much as I want Henry, I think he's Memphis bound. I think we likely end up with Snaer out of Henry/Cheek/Snaer.

Still, the #20, 25, and 22 players overall would be a nice haul.

haha. Hey, Weber has really stepped up his recruiting. The Jerrance Howard/World Wide Wes connection is already paying dividends.
