Looks like Lou was playing a hunch or something. At least he pulled the trigger as soon as he could.

Gatorade coolers, beware!

Wow, thanks Lou. Good move. If you had no illusions of letting Z keep going there was even less reason to let him hit.

I like that move. Because now, Piniella can now take out Zambrano and bring in a reliever, without having to double-switch. It didn't work out, but the Cubs do have their order turned over for the 8th, and I have feeling the Cubs will score 3 in the 8th.

What? You never have to double switch. The lineup was going to be turned over regardless.

Why do I have the terrible feeling the Braves are going to break it open in this inning?

It's irritating to see that Z's ERA is going to go up because Lou's one of the worst managers in baseball.

I understand that, but like Baker, Piniella does have a habit to double switch (remember the game he double switch Derrek Lee out of the game?), and if that option is not present to Piniella, the better.

that really is up there with marmol in a 6-run lead as dumbest managerial decision of the year. my mind is boggled.

Kevin Hart in a one-run game with the bases loaded.

Walking the bases loaded right now.

This loss is on the offense, then Lou.

i wouldn't go that far, since chances are the hitter who would've batted for zambrano would've gotten out anyway, but lou certainly hurt the cubs' chances of winning this game.

??????????? You aren't making any sense. The 9 spot was up in the order. You pinch hit, then insert a reliever the next inning. The double switch wouldn't have even been a realistic option unless they sent about 6 more guys to the plate that inning.

I think you have to bring Marmol in here. The Cubs need K's to get out of this unscathed.

Also, did anybody else think that Tex had some cement in his shoes? Damn, he's slow!
