Randy Bush talked about Hill's inconsistent release point(s) after his previous start.

Hendry is going to be busy come the trade deadline.

Not sure what's going on with Gameday, but regardless, today isn't a great day for long innings. The heat index is 97 degrees down in Memphis with the sun beating down.

I feel like it is getting to the point where I am not sure we will ever see Rich Hill in a Chicago National League Ball club uni again.

I hope I am wrong.

I'm thinking there's a good chance he'll be starting for the Cubs on Monday at the Hall of Fame game (which is besides your point).

it's just so hard to believe though. it's not like his success was a flash in the pants or seemed flukish in any way. he had sustained success for over a year and a half in MLB (after a couple years of dominance in AAA). i know he had control problems earlier on in his professional career, but this is really just hard to fathom.

Maybe Larry and Lou can see him first hand and help him figure it out.....

Larry and Lou need to stay away from Hill. Change his mechanics so he's quicker to the plate, well done fellas.

not many stolen off him now though, eh?? eh??

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

I just have a few minutes until my class starts. I'm about as big a Rich Hill fan as anyone this side of Abuck. However, I just felt bad for him today. We got to the game early (1 pm start) so I got to see all his pitches. He would go through a stretch of about 6 or 7 close to or in the zone and then completely lose the zone for 3 or 4 pitches. He threw a fastball that went back to the back stop Rick Vaugh style and several 50 foot curve balls. Then when he'd have a good stretch his defense would let him down. Coye Hill made a terrible throw trying to pick a guy off and Bobby Scales (who the hell is he?) couldn't handle a little league two hopper.

I don't know what is wrong with Rich but he looked unhitable and terrible and nothing in between.

I still say injury. Something physical has to be wrong for control to disappear like this, but not be backstop-levels of bad. Bum shoulder.

If it was injury I would think the hitters would let us know. Location seems to be more about consistent release points and mechanics, which may be something that leads to injury down the road.

Rhee one unearned run thanks to sloppy defense in 2 innings

Go sign a contract so you can be Dae-Eun's teammate.

It's up to 4 IP with that unearned run. 2 K/1 BB thus far.

The Chiefs dropped Game 1 of the DH 7-3. Rhee only pitched 4 innings and is clearly still on a short pitch count. Audy Santana got the start for Peoria in Game 2 of the DH.

Daytona won 10-6. Caridad had a good start and Casey Lambert continues to be a dominant reliever.

Tennessee is getting 2 hit. Veal only went 2 innings. Vance picked an awesome game to see.

Iowa lost 5-2. Unless you're a Jason Dubois fan, nobody you care about had a good day.

Dang, 5 BB/1 K in 2 IP for Veal...after all those strikes with his control.
