I don't want to encourage Lou hate, he frustrates me a lot, but thank god he's not Dusty Baker.

But seriously, the Lefty-Lefty thing is mindboggling and I wish he would explain it at some level. It makes no sense and really seems to just do the opposition a favor.

Yeah, Lou deserves at least some of the credit for the incredible offensive patience we're seeing this year. I'm confident that that's more important than the dumb stuff he does in-game.

I wouldn't mind the back-to-back lefties if Lou would pinch-hit Johnson for Edmonds when the opposing manager brings in a LOOGY, but he's demonstrated that he will not do so.

It's hard to do when you're carrying 13 pitchers. And because of that, there's really no reason to bat Edmonds in front of DeRosa.

lol, Brenly

"Wouldn't be the first time *this ump whose name I forget* has missed a call at first base...or second base, or third base, or at the plate."

(he actually said the name, I just can't recall it)

Sounds like Brenly has a beef with Cousins.

I think it is safe to say, the maybe Piniella should tinker with the lineup a little. I know it's not ideal, but I'd like to see Fuku and Lee switch spots in the lineup. Lee isn't giving the Cubs anything right now as the #3, so i think to help clear his cobwebs, I think the Cubs should move him to 5th, behind ARam, and Fuku to 3rd.

Pat Hughes commenting on how the Cubs have never had a lead of 4.5 games in the central as long as he and Ron have been broadcasting together. But I'm pretty sure the opened up a 6 game lead in the first half of 2001. Anyone else remember this?
