Just thinking about it, whoever made schedules this year really sucks.

Good thing we are owning the West, though.

Go Cubs!

I see nothing wrong with the schedules. No problem playing the Pirates 16 times. No problem going up against the Orioles, Blue Jays, Mariners, and Rays(who knew) for interleague.

Hopefully Friday will be Hiroki Kuroda Bobblehead Doll Night.

Why because Matt Capps day we lost and Saito we won? .500 record on opponent pitchers bobblehead day, yeah.

The Dodgers fans around me say that whomever on the Dodgers has a Bobblehead Night sucks that game.

I suppose if wed opted to keep Hoff around instead of keep 2 inept middle infielders around, wed be able to rest D-Lee. Of course Lou could always try the Blanco experiment again.

If he wants to, he could throw Edmonds over there. He's played a little 1B in the past.

Though that would still give you a crappy matchup against either him or Reed, depending on who's pitching.

Soto can also play first with Blanco catching.

I'm hoping Piniella will realize that at some point during the summer.

Slump watch:

Derrek Lee: .220/.255/.376/.631 over his past 33 games

Geovany Soto: .204/.290/.398/.688 over his past 27 games

Concerning because both players have been slumping at that rate for around 15-20% of the season

Surge watch:

Ryan Theriot: .444/.535/.472/1.007 over his last 10 games

Aramis Ramirez: .338/.445/.559/1.004 over his last 40 games

I imagine just seeing him for the second time in a week will help, buch like it did with Billingsley.

And it should help them against Gallagher, sadly.

Yes, but they still are going to have to play Juan Pierre, Hu, and now to a lesser extent Jeff Kent. Our offense is a lot better. I like us to win this game.

What the hell was Jeff Kent on yesterday? :x

No, I mean like playing the entire season series with the Dodgers in a 2 week span.

Usually, it's split up between a couple months.

I don't mind that so much. What sucks in my view is the fact that we have so few home games in June (the first real Summer month when people want to get out to games) and in September (for obvious reasons -- people want to be at Wrigley if the Cubs are fighting for the playoffs).

Instead we're sitting around our TVs now that the weather is warm, and we'll be sitting around our TVs hoping the Cubs can secure the division from thousands of miles away. That's just stupid scheduling.

Fastballs on the inner half of the plate. Letting him pull homers is so 2006 Cubs. Pound him away, let him pull the ball on the ground to the shortstop.

So we wrap it up in August, whats the problem with that? Seriously though the schedule does suck.

I hate 9:40 start times except on the weekends.

I love it, more tailgating time in the Dodger Stadium parking lot. :)

I guess they have to use the parking lot for something before the game starts.

I have a feeling you won't be taking any crap from Dodger fans tonight.

Geo is the one to be concerned with here. It was clear to everyone yesterday that the sliders were coming and he could do nothing against them and he is frustrated at himself. He needs to cool off and swing easy like in April but it is obvious he is pressing. What happened on the swing last night where it appeared he got injured?

Can't DeRosa play 1st?

I think he said it was his "least favorite" position, but yeah I would have to think he would be the first backup at first.

Going with 10 Dodger fan co-workers and 1 Dusty Baker's Reds fan. Cubs better win.
