Well, that is one case where I think you would have to trust your eyes over the numbers. Lilly has been shaky, but he's put together a pretty decent run that is better than Hill was able to do.

After 5 games, Lilly had a 7.30 ERA. Hill has a 4.12.

Lilly has been pretty good in MAy, which is what I was referring to. I fail to see how Rich Hill, who has been in AAA has contributed more than Lilly during that period.

It's a sum thing.

Every pitcher looks good if you remove the times he is bad. The argument makes me :banghead: .

Thanks Jimbo. It would be nice if the cubs could hit high flyballs today. They seem to be leaving the ballpark.

Yeah we screwed over Hill.

He screwed himself over. Why are we judging it on ERA anyway?

no he didn't. He was no worse than Lilly and Marquis when he was sent down. In fact he was doing better than them.

Edmonds will get the heat, but I put that one on Soriano.

For what? That was clearly Jimbo's ball.

Soriano made absolutely no attempt to go after it and just looked at Edmonds the whole time.

Lilly was so bad in April that he had negative value. Any good performance in May has just gotten him back into positive territory, and still less than what Hill had provided.

Yes, Hill was having control problems, but opponents were hitting less than .200 against him, so he wasn't giving up as many runs as, say, Ted Lilly.

Edmonds had the better route and was camped right freaking under the ball. Did you want Soriano to crash into Edmonds in an attempt to catch that?

Then I don't buy your "trust your eyes" argument.

Oh ya?

Go SNLVARR yourself!

Should he have held Edmonds hand while he attempted to catch it? I don't get what you're saying at all.

It bounced off Edmonds' freaking glove. Clearly it was his ball.
