Is there any reason Lou likes Marquis as a pinch runner so much?

 

Well, usually teams avoid PR with a pitcher because they don't want him to get injured so he can continue to pitch. I'm not sure that's what the Cubs see in Marquis, however.

Yeah, I can agree with that. I woulda tried to get the K on a K prone RH hitter coming in cold. Had to know Ward would hit for Pie anyway. If you get Soriano, you still can walk Ward and have them loaded for Fontenot with 2 outs.
