I worded that poorly I think. I won't deny his arm, but to get all moist over that throw to 3rd is a bit ridiculous. there are others in baseball with extremely accurate and strong arms and could also make that play. what was lost in that play is how idiotic it can be to tag from 2nd on a flyball to CF. maybe he's "better" than Fukudome, maybe not, but I do not think he's on his own level

Yeah he isn't the Barry Bonds of throwing, but I wouldn't be surprised if he had one of the top few arms in the league. Most guys who can throw 98 are guys who don't quit pitching.

Those were both incredible throws - He got Willy Tavares at 3rd easily on a throw I didn't think he should even make. Most cf's would have just thrown it into 2nd to keep the player at 1st from advancing.

Because he had an unexpected performance spike and he's on a rival team. Or the fact that he's really good and either hasn't always been or sort of came out of nowhere (happens with Pujols all the time). It's not really a big deal, just par for the course on fan forums. I'm not saying it has anything to do with Ankiel, other than that if he were on the Cubs people would've done their homework on HGH and wouldn't think it was a big deal.

Yea thats the only reason people here mention HGH when discussing Ankiel. Has nothing to do with any kind of actual report that came out last year accusing him of it, and him admitting to it. That couldnt be it at all.
