  1. I made this back in July in honor of our favorite ex-Cardinal http://media.putfile.com/Jim-Edmonds-June
  2. The Cubs sell out every game, they don't really need to advertise the team. Thats kinda what I was trying to get at. We have no need to advertise the team, so it looks like CSN is biased in one direction. In reality the Sox need to show their players doing the worm in order to convince people to watch them play.
  3. Since the Cubs don't really have any TV commercials that I have seen it probably doesn't really help things. The Sox always have tons of commercials and I never really remember seeing Cubs commercials much on TV.
  4. Went ahead and made a little tribute video to Edmonds before he returns to St. Louis tomorrow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnKYcYOEObU&feature=email First time trying this so tell me what you think.
  5. I believe that Jake Peavy is the offending party you speak of. After Soriano moonwalked, Peavy said they would get back. Lee gets hit by Chris Young, we all know what happened next. Peavy got a few games for his comments I think.
  6. Beasley is obviously the devil. Unlike kids who are out smoking crack and getting into real trouble, he had a little fun that went too far. Tell me you didn't do the same when you were a kid. People think Rose is a saint. Here is an in college incident involvingNeither Rose (Beasley has none of these) http://www.memphisrap.com/cgi-bin/content/pub9990263694155.cgi?itemid=9990285813644 Neither of these guys are bad kids. Both have made mistakes, Beasley's are more numerous and more publicized.
  7. Boy just an inning after they talk about it, here we go again. Time for instant replay MLB.
  8. Ok Derrek we didn't need that, but bailed out by their D again. I love how the 3 fans of the Pirates are making barely audible boos.
  9. You think he had another ADD moment right there? Unreal this defense.
  10. Yeah he went to 6 schools in 5 years. It looks pretty bad, and it is. That being said it is very common for those east coast guys to go to multiple high schools. Rajon Rondo, OJ Mayo, and Carmelo right of the top of my head. Beasley seems to be an extreme case of switching schools and part of it is behavior issues, but all those east coast guys move around in order to get to the most high profile school. Especially for their junior and senior years.
  11. Elton Brand is 6-8 and he is one of the better PFs in the league. He plays just as well as the other elite western conference power forwards. Rose is a stud, but you talk about how money will influence Beasley. Don't discount Rose getting money and being so close to home. We see extreme cases (Mike Vick, not comparing Rose to Vick at all) and less extreme cases (Carmelo) where guys have their friends from home that may not be the best people in the world. Keep rose at home and he cannot escape these influences and they are there even if its not publisized. Also Rose got into a fight with a member of the Memphis football team about two weeks after the championship game. So get on Beasley all you want, he stayed out of trouble completley while at school, Rose did not.
  12. I read something that said he was kicked out of a bunch of schools, yet only committed "minor" indiscretions like slashing car tires, graffiti and putting a dead rat on a teachers desk. Okay, so he didn't rape anybody, good for him, but that's some serious signs of one screwed up prick. He didn't get in trouble once at K-State. Obviously that is much easier than staying out of trouble in a city like Chicago. Screwed up prick? He was a teenager, and putting a dead rat on a desk doesn't hurt anybody. The vandalism was signing his name on things like water fountains and the window of a teachers car. Are those things acceptable probably not, but its just a kid being a kid. I would love to see a link to the slashing a tire thing, bc I have never heard that. Otherwise he was just a kid having a little fun, and people overreacting about it because he is a basketball player. Rose isn't exactly Mr. Perfect either. As far as behavior goes I haven't heard anything bad about him that is incredibly concerning, but money in your hometown can be problem. Not to mention the guy admitted his diet consisted of gummy bears, honey buns, and sour straws. Not exactly something that makes you feel good about a guy staying in shape for an entire NBA season.
  13. I feel like people really underrate Beasley because he isn't as well known in the Chicago/Big 10 area. Beasley is athletic, maybe not as much as Rose, but its not like he is Tyler Hansbrough out there. Beasley is an amazing rebounder, the guy thinks every single rebound is his, and he gets them. Unlike Durant who was really skinny in college and still is, Beasley has a legit NBA body to play the 4. People complain about his height, but remember Elton Brand is listed at 6-8, more like 6-7 and still gets 20-10 every year that he is healthy. Beasley is bigger and more athletic than Brand, and a better scorer as well. Since Jordan left the league every team that has one the championship has had an all star big man. Beasley can be that guy. Put him with Noah inside and the Bulls will get almost every rebound and have great energy. Beasley can run the court, he hustles, and his off the court issues are non-existant (Rick Morrisey). Rose may be one of the best PGs to come out in a long time, but Beasley gives the Bulls the best chance to win this year. Not to mention Beasley single-handedly beat the national champions once, and dropped 40 on them in their house, while he played the entire game in foul trouble. He played the whole Big-12 season double and triple teamed, put some decent teammates around him and he will be able to score one-on-one against almost anybody in the league.
  14. He sure looked pretty good today. The D-Bags hitters just couldn't handle the way he changed speed on his pitches. Def his best performance of the season.
  15. Most guys who throw 98 can find the strike zone
