Hopefully, the afternoons disaster can serve as a lesson, and they'l have all of tommorow to hang their heads in shame think about it, and take it out on the D Backs, or at least score a run or 2.

This just in: While out to lunch after the game, Jon Lieber somehow gave up a 3 run home run to 73 year old seating hostess Ariana Flores. Flores has a long history of arthritis and a fake hip.

The sad thing is, The Reds may wind up having the best rotation in the NL Cent. If their lineup starts producing like their capable of, as they did today, this could be a tough team.

 

Or maybe Im giving them too much credit and The Cubs just suck. Its hard to tell right now.

Lou wanted to double switch early when the game was not out of hand and he needed Marshall to go more than 1 inning. Theriot was the logical option. And Soto is a catcher playing a day game after a night game in a blowout.

 

Lou has done some odd stuff, but this is not something to complain about.

He basically had 2 bad weeks, was injured for 2 weeks, had a couple bad games, and now is doing decent. He's been hitting the ball hard nearly every AB the past few games. He's not worth 18m, but with his track record, I don't think a couple bad weeks is worth flipping out over (not that you are, but apparently CubsGM is)

What I've learned today is that I hate Lou Piniella.

 

What I learned today, is that the Cubs have a less then 35% chance of winning a game not started by Zambrano.

 

Man, its' only 7 days removed from April, but dang, the great play in April seems like 100 yrs ago, now.

I'm just giving him a little extra cushion since has already been on the DL and has been hitting the ball pretty good the past few games. The way I see it, he struggled for a couple weeks and then struggled for a couple games when he came back from the DL. If his numbers haven't improved in a couple weeks then I'd say its completely justified. Right now, I think its just sort of justified.
