Honestly, I'd rather have Theriot than Soriano batting at this point in the year.

 

Yeah, as of right now we're a worse team with Soriano playing than we are without him. Hopefully he can get it going.

Man, Theriot has really hit the ball hard today. I'll give him that.

 

He's hit the ball well ALL year. No one wants to admit it and it's kinda of lame how much the Theriot haters want him to fail, just so they are proven correct.

 

He's been hitting very well compared to what we could expect of him. But that's only good enough to make him Henry Blanco to Ronny Cedeno's Geovany Soto.

 

Oh I absolutely want Cedeno starting. I just don't think Theriots 830 OPS out of the SS is horrible. But yes, Cedeno should be ahead of him.

Honestly, I'm not sure how fundamentally sound Fukudome really is. I wonder if Japanese players sort of have an in-built reputation for it.

 

So far today, he's missed a cutoff man on a play at third where he had no shot (Gwynn Jr. had been running with the pitch), he's botched a calling play in the outfield and he's gotten himself picked off.
