What about booing Dusty goony??

I'm fine with it. His shortcomings were the result of his own decision making. He also refused to accept any responsibility for bad things and expected nothing but praise for the good. That's different from booing a guy for the specific reason that he's just not a good baseball player.

Cubs

Fontenot, 2B

Theriot, SS

Lee, 1B

Ramirez, 3B

Fukudome, RF

DeRosa, LF

Johnson, CF

Blanco, C

Lilly, P

Good to see we basically have five automatic outs in a row in Johnson, Blanco, P, Fontenot, and Theriot.

I hate the Cubs organization.

The Reds have a big hole called CF.

I hope it remains a hole all year and they don't fill it with someone else, let's call him Bray Juice. Although, I guess Lenny Kofton makes too much sense. I could approve of that.

Agreed on all counts. Though, I think I booed Bynum during a game in '06 when he made 4 errors. He may not have been charged for them, but he should've. Jacque Jones was in RF laughing at him.

When mentioning Reds pitching prospects why in the heck would you talk about AA relievers, Josh Roenicke and Pedro Viola, and not Homer Bailey?!

Homer Bailey is well on his way to no longer being a prospect.

Yeah I didn't get that either, or even AA starter Daryl Thompson.

Great pitch by Volquez.

Lee got fooled on that one. Nice pitch by Volquez.

Have to admit, I don't understand the bizarre schadenfreude towards Corey Patterson. The Cubs' management screwed with his development, he had an awful injury in 2003 when he was just starting to get it, he contributed well in 2004, and then somehow became the poster boy for everything that was wrong with the team from 2005 on.

It's the mistaken belief that players can become completely different types of players just by trying, and that fast players should always be slap hitters.

If .280/.357/.400 is an "automatic out," I'd love to have that automatic out in my lineup right now.

At age 21?

No.

I know Volquez is doing very well this year, but I haven't heard much about him. What's his celing, assuming Dusty doesn't ruin him?

That is just plain incorrect. He was definitely overhyped a bit, and Cueto and Volquez have passed him up, but he is still a very good pitching prospect. (and the one big knock on him was his control, and what do you know, he has only 3 walks in 19 ip this year!)

That had to have been a joke.
