It's The CT Gamethread back and ready for more. Color me concerned by this pitching match-up. Hopefully the offense has some pop left in them after their scoring explosion in the last two games. EDIT: I almost forgot...

Let's see our pitchers:

This guy (left) who seems friendly enough:

http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w20/CTCubsFan/edinson_michael_2.jpg

1-0, 0.87 ERA, 9/5 K/BB

vs.

This consummate professional who has no funny pictures of himself on the internet:

http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w20/CTCubsFan/teddy.jpg

0-2, 9.95 ERA, 8/4 K/BB

Let's keep that ERA under 10.00 today Ted... And remember, you lost the most miserable game of my Phillies series, so you owe me. Man, I'm in the mood for some...

NOTES:

- Huge thanks to Bruce for the update on Pie in the previous game thread. Very glad to see that Lou is taking such a personal interest in Felix. Very happy to see that late inning walk tonight.

- Derrek Lee is a handsome man.

- Alfonso Soriano is still an idiot.

- The Cubs have now won 3 in a row, and their 9-5 record puts them 1.5 back of St. Louis and a game up on Milwaukee.

- And a look at the farm via our lovely Minors forum (AKA the prospects I know by name):

~ Veal: 5.2 IP, 8 H, 1 ER, 3/0 K/BB, HR, 6-7 GO-FO

- Lastly in the event Lilly pulls himself together and the Cubs win, I will be a little late putting up the game thread most likely, but not too late.

I beg to differ.

Jeez...imagine if Aramis was back to his usual self while Lee and Fukudome are raking.

He's walking through all this, at least.

I can't even imagine what the lineup will be like if Lee, Ram, Fuk and Sori are all hot for a stretch at the same time.

Not likely, but would be ricockulous

And then backing them up you'd have DeRosa and Soto proving themselves to being very solid.

Sigh.

One funny thing about that picture is that Lilly never changes his bland facial expression during that massive meltdown.

I predict DLee hits 2 solo homers and that's the only hits Volquez gives up. Cubs put together a mini-fake rally on F. Cordero but lose 5-3.

Oh, and DLee for president.

We need to get those going over here.

This does nothing for me except give me a light bulb on top of my head should the Cubs make the playoffs this year.

If we manage to pull off a win with this pitching matchup tomorrow, we might have to abolish the "blame CT" shtick forever.

Where did that come from anyway? I think its from before my time.

How nice would it be to have Fukudome walking ahead of Derrek?

I musta missed it, what did Bruce say about Pie?

Basically that Lou is personally coaching Pie in adjusting his swing and thats why he might not be starting much for the next few days.

Can we make those by either Fukudome or Soto for my own selfish fantasy team reasons?

Glorious.

And then Soto right after Aramis?

Heavenly.

CT (2-0 this year), myself (4-1 this year) and obviously Fred (1-0 this year) all stayed at Fred's place for a couple days last year during the playoffs.
