hahaha...Pat saying Tejada tells Astros he's actually 33, not 31 as claimed.

Lou really needs to stop sending the runners so damn often.

I can't find the article right now, but I'm pretty sure that the work of Dan Fox over at BP showed that the Cubs cost themselves more runs than any other NL team by being caught stealing so much last year. A lot of those are busted hit-and-runs. Someone should cut off Lou's arms so he can't call for a hit-and-run ever again.

In other action, Kyle Lohse, who currently owns a 0.74 ERA on the season, is throwing a 3 H/0 BB game through 7 against the Brewers, and leads 3-0.

I'm not going to lie, I kinda like seeing Cards and White Sox fans get their hopes up.

Plus Brewers losses are always nice, so it's win-win.

I love Ron. I wish they would get a color up there who actually knows things to go with Ron though.

As well as Lee has been hitting, he probably figured Derrek would put the bat on the ball.

I don't particularly care what Lou's rationale is. This team is better off if we never attempt a hit and run all season. Lou really needs to stop calling for a few each game.

It would be nice to have first and second with one out right now.

Someone print out that article and send copies of it to everyone on the Cubs' coaching staff.

I'm looking at you, Roast.

With an ump using a tight strike zone and pitchers throwing so many balls it's foolish to hit and run.

At the very least, it seems like we're really making pitchers work. Today seems to be no exception.

What's Volquez's PC at?

You don't really need that qualifier at the beginning, IMO.

Fuku's in a bit of a slump right now.

He went 2/3 with a 2B, 2 RBI, and 2 walks last night...

It's a good strategy if used correctly.

I guess after that first week just about anything could be considered a "slump"

He's doing great. I really wish he would bat in front of Lee and Ramirez though.

The problem is, in order for it to really work correctly, you need to rely on so many factors breaking in your favor. It seems like there is so much luck involved in successfully carrying out a hit and run that it just doesn't seem worth the risk of it failing.
