i dont know about you guys, but i just couldnt get too excited about his homer. i still remember what a couple of bombs can do to our country

What an ignorant post. Does this poster not realize that Fukudome wasn't even alive during WW2? Even if he had been around, relations between Japan and the U.S. have drastically improved over the years, as Japan is now an ally of ours.

Finally, if you're a Cubs fan, don't you root for your team to do well? To not do that because you dislike a player's nationality is incredibly petty, close-minded, racist, and simply pathetic.

You bring up a good point. However, this.

Okay, now it's funny. I knew I shouldn't have been slacking in my FJMing.

blizzau and warpticon aren't caught up in their firejoemorgan.com reading.

Man, you skip a week or so and look waht happens.

9 innings into the season and he was already introduced to the Wrigley boos. Boos directly at the crowd favorite, no less.

Money can change any habit, but not this one, regardless of how hot trade with Japan is.

Hey, he's doing better than me. I still haven't let the Civil War go. I refuse to go the South, no matter what.

Gagne got taken to the Fukudome

I really wanted them to score again off Gagne so I could start a "game over Gagne" chant. :x

The guy's not that good, or else he wouldn't be on pace to be caught stealing a whopping 162 times.

You can't be serious. There's no way he's going to attempt to steal a base every single game for the rest of the year and get caught each and every time. Give me a break. That's just not going to happen.

Even if he did it for like 30 games, don't you think they'd red light him at some point? http://home.comcast.net/~davhern2/wtf.gif

COME ON!!! You people need to relax!

I have already gone ahead and subtracted 162 total bases from all of the pre-season predictions, to see what he will really do this year. It's not looking pretty...

I have seen more people not detect sarcasm in a post than in the last couple of months

Emoticons or links are very helpful to relay sarcasm. Without knowing about the firejoemorgan.com content, that post about mistrusting the Japanese seemed all too real. Maybe it's because blatant ignorance and racism are actually present throughout society. Unfortunately, I'm too used to hearing terms like "Japs" without seeing people bat an eye.

So did anyone save the video of the Musberger call yesterday? I know it was on YouTube but I didn't get a chance to save it and now it's gone I believe. If anyone could sendspace it or something like that it'd be great, thanks!
