Why not? They've already signed Cliff Floyd and Mike DiFelice.

Ya, they could dig up Hank Greenberg too and have Crawford and Baldelli carry him around like Weekend at Bernies.

Na, just bring back Fred McGriff. He's as stiff as any corpse.

LOL

I'm in favor of this, it'd be cool to see, at least.

Would he even be allowed to go to Japan with all of the legal stuff surrounding him?

He legally could since there is no flight risk, but it would be impractical. This per ESPN, which is ALWAYS rock solid.

Bonds would only be about 150 more HGH injections away from owning the Japanese HR record. I think he should go for it! Then he can have another record with an asterisk next to it.

this would actually be a really smart move for the d-rays (i refuse to call them the rays). for a lot of teams, there's no point in taking on the sideshow and the negative publicity that comes with signing barry bonds. but nobody cares about the d-rays, not even people who live in tampa. any publicity for that franchise would be a good thing.

I am sure the Yankees are groaning, they are the only team to lose to the DRays.

Lots of teams will be losing to the Rays this year, with or without Bonds.

I would really like to see them be competitive and keep their good young players while adding some good vets. I hear their scouting is the best in MLB!

I'm sure thats a credit to LaMar, who himself is one of the better scouts out there (although not so much a good GM).

I'm disappointed I haven't seen a photo shopped Bonds in a Rays jersey!

Jeez, he could at least try to smile

He's playing for the Rays (or would be). Would you smile if you were on that team?

Yeah, it would be fun to be part of makng them a .500 team and having the media absolutely kiss his butt.

I can tell you this, if the Cubs played in the AL I would love for them to pick up Barry Bonds and DH him. I can't understand these AL teams that won't sign Bonds and DH him. One of these teams is going to definitely regret it. He is still an above average hitter.

They'd rather not take the PR hit and risk losing him to the Penal League halfway through the season.

Above average? He's still one of the best hitters in the game.
