Yes and No. Yes, the season has started for real, but no, PACR means our long national nightmare is finally over. Finally baseball is in the air.

 

I think they both have their merits...to me PACR means "Baseball is back" (not that it ever really leaves for those of us here)...its when we start seeing photos of our players...guys in new uniforms...pictures of sunny warm Arizona/Florida...its a hopeful time of spring when even losses don't really matter....I like them both...but PACR is the start of it all and thus, my favorite.

The irony. Wasn't the story that players in the 30's and 40's pretty much avoided baseball and "training" over the off-seasons because they worked other jobs and such (or maybe some of the higher paid ones were just lazy)? I love how people's romanticized views of the past are usually totally inaccurate.

 

BTW, not that that comment doesn't suck, but Barry Rozner is and always will be the most useless sportswriter in town.

Besides all the awesome pictures, IMO Spring Training is nothing but a tease. It bores the crap out of me, and all I want is real baseball. I'd probably be less bitter towards ST if it wasn't two months long.
