The Giants thought about taking a Tight End at this spot, with Shockey's future up in the air. WR was also an option, but they decide to stay on defense and draft Jason Jones, DE Eastern Michigan.

Miami is back on the clock.

Since I'm pretty sure Jacksonville is not going to pick a RB (and I won't be able to check this at work tomorrow), I'll go ahead and with the Colts pick select:

Felix Jones

If Jones were somehow selected with the next pick, I'll do what the Colts would normally do, bypass the next 3 or 4 backs, and go with:

Matt Forte

For Exile's sake (I haven't seen him lately, so I'm not even sure he's reading). I considered several positions for the team. I didn't see a pass rusher that the Colts would want. Corner is a need but not a huge one. Offensive guard is a need, but my guess is that they'll wait until later in the draft. The Colts really could use a backup RB who could catch the ball out of the backfield and spell Addai well. That's Jones.

Even though I picked out of turn, please let the Jaguars have their time. Thank you.

I hope the Colts are as fortunate as you were with Felix Jones being there. I'd be thrilled. I'd also agree with your assessments; while OG is a pretty big need, Polian is almost certain to wait until the middle rounds to take one. I have to imagine the first pick comes down to a RB or a DE (with TE a darkhorse position).

Oh, and I'm in the middle of finals and pretty much forgot about this. Oh well. Nice pick.

How long are we allowing for third round picks?

Six hours? or four?

No more than four. Feel free to begin discussing each team.

That works.

I'd say guard would be on the top of the Dolphins' list. Don't know much about Trey Darilek and Ikechuku Ndukwe, but I know their offensive line hasn't been good for years.

That said, I'd likely go with Mike McGlynn. He's big and strong, both traits Parcells seems to like quite a bit.

Or, the Dolphins could break the full back barrier and take Jacob Hester or Owenn Schmidt. Hester may fit them better, though I could see waiting another round for him.

Weird, I had full back as one word and it asterisk'd it out... Why in the world is full back blocked?

Posted
Schmidt is a monster

I agree. If a team is looking for a true, prototypical full back, Schmidt is most definitely their man.

Hester is a bit more versatile, though, hence why I think he'd be a slightly better fit.

Dolphins won't go fullback this early after they drafted one that started the second half of last season in Mauia. (besides, I like Hillis better than Schmitt or Hester anyway, and that's not just me being a homer, either--he's a great pass catcher and faster than either of them; a good runner; and a steadily improving blocker. Hester was a slightly better college back, but I don't see his game translating to the NFL. Hillis's versatility will allow him to contribute in more ways. Schmitt will be a blocking headhunting machine, but he won't likely contribute much else.) A defensive tackle, end, or guard would probably be the best picks here for need, though there's still room for a "best available type selection. Research time.

 why is full back censored?

With the Dolphins going 3-4 or some hybrid variation thereof, and with their DL from last season being old and injury-ridden, I'm leaning toward a nose tackle prospect at this pick. It's essentially a battle of upside versus production, as Trevor Laws is the safest pick available, but Marcus Harrison, Dre Moore, and Pat Sims are more athletic with greater upside. After having taken a boom-or-busty CB with the last pick, though, We take the safer pick and go with Trevor Laws, DT, Notre Dame with the first pick of the third round.

When in one word form, it starts with FU and ends with CK.

Since we've reached draft day, I guess we can call this done.

It was fun. And if the Cowboys ended up with Thomas, Talib, and Charles, I'd be very happy. I don't think Thomas will make it to 22. According to the Ranch Report, they predict the Cowboys first three picks will be Felix Jones (22), James Hardy (28) and Terrance Wheatley (61). I could probably live with those three as well.
