I changed the topic because I wanted to post mock drafts and such... :P

http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sub/mockdraft.html

They have the Bears taking Woodson in the first round. They don't have the 2nd and 3rd rounds posted yet, but they seem to think the Bears need to use the first pick on a QB...FWIW.

I especially like the part where the Jets draft a RB with Thomas Jones on the team. Oh the irony.

That mock draft doesn't even have the correct order of draftees, as the Bears draft 14th, not 12th.

If they reach on a QB in the first round with all the other more important holes they need to address, it'll be a catastrophe.

That's because that site hasn't updated since December 20. It's odd because they usually update a few times during the season, than right after the regular season ends and the top of the draft order is known. It's possible they won't be updating any further.

Most every mock draft is probably going to say Bears go QB in the first, and they might be right. But I don't want it to happen and I don't think they will do it. As raw said, there isn't a QB in the draft worth the spot or the cap hit he'd be guaranteed.

Take somebody later, and take a QB every single year in the middle of the draft.

New England will probably move out of that pick, they floated the McFadden rumors earlier just as a mind game with Maroney, IMO.

I don't know that they were fabricated. They are winning because of a great offense, the best way for them to continue winning is a greater offense. McFadden would be a brilliant move for them, but it's not happening at #7.

I certainly hope teams don't think McFadden is as good as Adrian Peterson, they will be sadly dissapointed.

I think he will be close. I don't expect as good, but I think he has all the potential in the world.

If you were the Falcons and the Pats offered you Maroney and the #7 pick for the #3 pick and say a 2nd or 3rd round pick would they do it.

The Falcons should accept that. Get a RB, can still draft a QB (Ryan/Brohm) at 7 and get an extra pick. I think the Falcons would like to get a QB, but I don't think they will get one with McFadden on the board.

The Falcons have so many needs, and the Pats probably have the balls to do something if they want McFadden enough.

I'm not even remotely surprised that these two drafts have us taking a safety and tackle respectively. John Fox is talking about getting the team back to the kind of team they were in 2003, which means power running (that's right, DeAngelo will continue to get 5 touches a game) and defense.

Ryan Kalil's good though, so I'm not against taking another USC lineman, and Kenny Phillips seems to be a guy people are high on. I'll take either.

Hey now, I said that...not raw!

I'm really hoping Micheal Oher declares..this kid is a beast...btw here is a great link to a video about Oher...

it covers a book coming out on him.."The Blind Side" by Michael Lewis(yes the moneyball Author)

It sounds like he's returning for his senior year which sucks (but then again, everything indicated Slaton was returning until he declared yesterday). I really like Oher more than Clady (and I'm a big Clady fan).

Carolina hasn't had a legit safety since Minter retired. Though, Chris Harris did well this year.

Really? I'm big on Clady. Oher's really good though, so I really hope he declares, because I see several scenarios where Clady is gone by 14.

Yeah, I'm afraid Clady is gone by 14. Oher could be good insurance that the Bears get one of them. Angelo doesn't trade up, I just can't see him trading up for a tackle.

I definitely would not if I were the Falcons. They've already got a strong running game with Warrick Dunn and Jerrious Norwood - the only reason to take McFadden is if they believe he's a special player (which I do).

Maroney would be an improvement over the current duo, but not enough to warrant moving down four spots and giving up either a second or third rounder. Now if the Pats were to offer up a very good young o-lineman (Wesley Britt?) along with the 7 and maybe a later (4th or later probably) rounder, that's a much more fair deal for Atlanta.

Because of Dunn/Norwood and the other pressing needs, I could easily see the Falcons trading down to the late top 10/early teens and grabbing a QB there as well as stockpiling picks.

im glad ingrams coming back for his senior year

Sarcasm or have you heard something I haven't? Every source I've seen says he's going pro.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=jm-ingramdraft010308&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

"It was just my time," Ingram said. "My years with the Gators have been great. We won a championship, played some great games, and it has allowed me this chance now of reaching my goal of playing in the NFL."

I've seen it on ESPN too.

These are the guys who have said they'd come back who could be top 15 picks (so far; there are always a few who say they're coming back and then change their mind again): CB Malcolm Jenkins (Ohio St), OT Alex Boone (Ohio St), LB Rey Maualuga (USC) and OT Michael Oher (Ole Miss).

Dang, I was hoping Maualuga would leave since he's been linked to the Titans to fill the MLB role. Fowler and Tulloch did a solid job this year, but putting Rey in with Bulluck and Thornton would have been ridiculous.

I thought Boone declared yesterday.

Unless he changed his mind later in the day, I saw yesterday that Boone decided to return.

You're right Boone is staying. I knew I saw something about him yesterday.

I don't know why Jenkins is staying. He could go as early as 7 to the Patriots.
