Saw it on ESPN's bottom line, but I'm way too lazy to post a link. Not sure that Erstad nor the Astros deserve one anyway.

God bless Ed Wade.

Is there a good Astros board to look at to see their reactions?

He's like the cheese of the month, it's the gift that just keeps on giving.

$1 million may seem like a bargain price for leadership, hustle and old football stories, but Erstad might be more valuable if he's not occupying a spot on the active roster. He joins a bench also sure to include Mark Loretta, Geoff Blum, Brad Ausmus. Jose Cruz Jr. probably has the edge over Reggie Abercrombie for the last spot, but it'd be no surprise if the team made one more addition.

I love rotoworlds take on some players.

Are you guys serious? I would love to have a player like this on the Cubs. He goes out and plays his guts out everyday. The Cubs could use someone like him. We don't have any guys like him except Theriot. Theriot just isn't enough. Erstad could really give this team the spark they need to win it all.

And he's very consistent. The Cubs could use some consistency.

Gotta agree with Rotoworld -- Erstad is a waste of a roster spot. That's why he should be a coach and not a player. A coach can tell old football stories in the locker room just as well as a player.

Looking at Erstad's career numbers, you almost have to assume that he was juicing during the 2000 season.

Beat me to it, I was just about to post my suspicions that Erstad was a juicer.
