Watching Jon Kitna whine like a school girl was great.

Almost as great as watching Romo act like a little bitch when things weren't going great.

12-1

congratulations, you're playing for 2nd place just like the rest of the nfc

Nope. We're playing for number six.

Playing for it? Yes. With a solid chance of winning it? Not at all, not when the only way you can beat the Lions is with a lucky bounce. And that's just a fact, mandinga.

We have as much chance to win the Super Bowl this year as the Bears did last year. Will we be favored? Hell no. Are the odds against it? Surely. But we'll have a shot.

Agree. The Cowboys most definitely have a shot to win the Super Bowl this year. I don't expect them to, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if they did. I would've been shocked if the Bears beat the Colts last year.

Even though the Cowboys aren't likely to be favored, it's still just one game and you never know what's going to happen in one game. What happens if Tom Brady has a game ending injury in the first quarter a la Carson Palmer? Anything can happen in that one game.

I think it's way too early to assume who's going to the Super Bowl. In 2005 at this time, everyone had the Colts penciled in as going to the Super Bowl. Last year, everyone had the Colts out because they couldn't stop the run at this point in the season. We all know what happened then.

Great teams are made in January. We'll see what happens then.

Substitute Packers for Cowboys and my point is the same. Any team can win on any given day.

If the Pats lost to the NFC contender in the Super Bowl, for me it would be a shocker on a level I have never seen.

The only chance to upend them is if one of the AFC teams does it in the playoffs. Maybe Jacksonville or Indy. I don't really believe in Pitt.

That's how I'm looking at it anyway. I'm prepared to be shocked, I just don't see how it would happen. It's not like the Pats have never been to the Super Bowl before so they might become intimidated.

It is laughable and pathetic that fans of some teams try to diminish a 12-1 record simply because their teams suck and because there happens to be a team that is 13-0, knowing full well they would rather be 12-1 than losing.

It's quite laughable.

who's diminishing it? the cowboys are really good, i don't think anyone said that they're not. they're either the 2nd or 3rd best team in football, depending on what one thinks of the colts.

that being said, neither the cowboys, nor anyone else, will beat this patriots team.

in other news, peter king is an idiot:

10. New York Giants (9-4). Plaxico Burress (900 yards, 10 touchdown catches) is campaigning very, very hard to get one of my two all-pro votes at wideout.

hey peter, mr. moss and mr. owens would like a word with you.

The Cowboys would love to trade up if the Pats pick high enough for McFadden. On the other hand, that isn't likely.

The Cowboys will likely look to draft an o-lineman and WR with their picks. So barring a chance for McFadden, I really don't see them trading up that high.

Huh? I thought the Pats were losing their top draft picks after getting caught stealing plays?

I'm honestly wondering what the Browns would be asking for Brady Quinn this offseason. Trying to set aside my obvious bias as much as I can, I still think he's a much better QB option than Andre Woodson or Matt Ryan or Colt Brennan or whoever else in the draft. Not that Carolina would make a deal anyway because they're scared of taking any offensive skill position player high (and the Dwayne Jarrett era won't embolden them any).

i love that one commercial with Quinn where he says something like "sorry guys, I'm busy on Sundays". ha ha, doing what, wearing a ball cap and holding a clipboard?

that said, i'd take him on the Bears over Grossman/Griese

no, they lose their own first-round pick in the draft, but they keep the 49ers' first round pick, which the niners pissed away last year when trading up to draft joe staley. the niners gave up their first round pick this year (gonna be top 5 probably) and a 4th round pick last year (turned into randy moss) for joe staley. great job guys.

Bears fans had to put up with that all of last year.

I never said the Cowboys aren't a good team. I think you're a little over-sensitive when it comes to the Cowboys.

The Patriots, however, are a better team -- and they've already proven it on the field this year. That's a simple fact. Does it mean there's absolutely no chance whatsoever for the Cowboys? No. But the chance is very, very small.

As for having as much a chance as the Bears -- we all saw what happened to the Bears with their chance.

I agree there's still plenty of football to be played though. Who knows? Maybe someone pulls off the miracle and the Pats never even get there. You might be suprised to learn I already have the Cowboys penciled into the Super Bowl. I'm far from a person who thinks they aren't good. They did struggle this weekend against a vastly inferior team though. Not sure why, but they did.

i actually give the Cowboys a better chance, if only because the NFC playoffs will be a cakewalk compared to the AFC. The Cowboys set up well to run to the Super Bowl as the #1 seeds, whereas the Patriots could be upset by any of the Jaguars, Colts or Steelers.

Trading up by giving up next year's first round pick is (imo) ridiculously bad strategy unless you're a top-5 team. The risk of that pick turning into a top-10 pick is just too much for me to consider it a sound move.

The Bears were set up the exact same way last year as a No. 1 seed. I'd actually say the 2006 Bears were set up better than the 2007 Cowboys are since Green Bay proved it could play with Dallas. Last year it was pretty clear that it was the Bears and then the rest of the NFC.

The Cowboys actually have a tougher path to the Super Bowl than the Bears did last year -- mainly because of Green Bay -- but they also have a better chance of winning the Super Bowl.

by the way, apparently baltimore lost its super bowl last week because they sure are mailing it in tonight

On NFL Network's highlights of the Dolphins game, Deion Sanders (i think it was) said that he though the Dolphins would beat BAL next week. While I don't agree with him, they certainly need to play better than they did today....well maybe not. But I have a feeling they will be pumped up if the Steelers are tied with the Browns going into Week 17 and will put up a good showing at home.

Yeah this is really Miami's shot to win a game. The Bengals should beat Miami unless they completely don't show up, but it seems like Baltimore has totally quit, and they've lost 7 in a row.

Fortunately, I have Marques Colston on my fantasy team. Unfortunately, my opponent who I led by one point coming into tonight's game, has Drew Brees.
Posted
Brees 21/28, 250 yds, and 2 TD's (would have been 3 if not for a drop) in the first half.

It is against the Falcons though...

he is finally salvaging my fantasy team

It's now 31-7.

I think that is highly unlikely. I know that Flo's contract expired this year, but IMHO it would be a huge mistake to let him walk. Quality OLT's don't just grow on trees. I really like what I saw from Doug Free this year in training camp before he got injured and would love to see him evolve but nobody we get would be able to take over right now at the level of play that Flo is currently at. JJ has said that he wants a "playmaker" in the first round, and Phillips has said that he's against taking a WR in the 1st round. I think we'll take a CB and a RB in the first. It would be awesome if Malcolm Jenkins and Felix Jones fell into our laps.

I've seen a few mocks where Felix slides to the second round, so there's a good chance he'll be there with the Cleveland pick. Not sure if Malcolm Jenkins will be or not.

One mock I read yesterday had the Cowboys selecting Deshawn Jackson with the Cleveland pick, but based on Phillips' comments, I'm not sure if that's where we will go or not.
