Is face $135?? I thought I read 175. That'd be nice. Especially if I can sell the other 2 for 400 apiece.

It's $135 plus fees. I'm not sure how much the Ticketmaster fees are.

The cheapest I've found is StubHub and they have a few tickets at $398. Sideline tickets are going for $700 - $1000 per.

Wow, that's a lot of money. What did they go for originally?

I won't know for a little bit. The market on the tickets was supposed to stay open til tonight at 7, but then without explanation they took the Rose Bowl off the board. They're supposed to send a new confirmation after the markets close, and send out the tickets in a couple weeks. All I know is their upper level and probably crappy. But they are in fact Rose Bowl tickets.

Yikes....I'm in the wrong business. I wonder what the hottest ticket is this bowl season.

Rose is definitely the hottest ticket. It's usually the biggest of the BCS games barring some great matchup elsewhere. Additionally you've got USC who packs the place and Illinois who hasn't been there in 24 years. Flight/Hotel packages alone shot up about 50 bucks from Sunday-Monday.

Weird, I've read on some other boards some USC fans don't think the game will even be sold out.

The line to get student tickets here in Champaign was nuts all day. We got 4 yesterday and should have another 4 from a friend's dad. 8 of us plan on making the trip. If only we could find some flights and a place to stay...any advice? Looking into coming on the 30th and leaving the 3rd.

i really wish people would stop saying: "well illinois is capable of winning, but usc is probably going to blow them out."

can't have it both ways, and i will definitely call you out just the same when illinois wins.

As Ohio State and Michigan found out last year, the top Big Ten teams just don't have the talent, speed or depth to play with the top teams from the SEC and PAC Ten. Although with former SEC guy Zook in charge, the Illini are starting to recruit the right kind of players. Not only is Illinois going to get blown out, the remaining Big three of the Big Ten (Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin) are going to get outclassed by three SEC teams (LSU, Florida and Tennessee) who play in a much tougher conference.

LSU > Ohio State

Georgia > Illinois

Tennessee > Michigan (and Appalachian State)

Florida > Wisconsin

Arkansas > Penn State

Auburn > Iowa

Kentucky > Indiana

Miss. State > Mich State

Purdue = Alabama

South Carolina = Northwestern

Vanderbilt > Minesota

All I can say is good luck finding anything close to Pasadena.

What would you recommend then? We already accept that we'll likely have to rent 2 cars.

You do realize that the Big Ten took 2 out of 3 last year from the SEC? I think they will win at least 1 this year also. Probably 2. If they were quasi home games for the Big Ten they may win all 3.

You do realize that the second best team in the SEC was busy blowing out Notre Dame while the second best team in the Big Ten was getting killed by the Trojans?

OSU's gonna be in real trouble when JaMarcus suits up this year.

Good thing OSU didn't lose any seniors from last year and only LSU did.

You do realize the 2nd best team in the Big Ten blew out Notre Dame last year also. At Notre Dame. Not in another home sec bowl game. It really means nothing. What does mean something is that the Big Ten took 2 out of 3 from the vastly superior SEC last year. Again I have said it before and will say it again. The SEC is probably better then the Big Ten. The SEC is not next to the NFL like most of you SEC guys want to pretend. Bowl records, overall records and Top draft picks would say that the Big Ten is pretty close to the SEC over the last 10 years.

Downtown LA is probably booked up too. There should be nice places that are still available in Long Beach, West LA, Santa Monica or Burbank. If you've got a car, you shouldn't have any worries. Just make sure you come early on game day because traffic is a major problem in Pasadena on NYD with the parade going through the main street in town.
