illinois gets commitment from texas juco pf/c dominique keller at halftime of the msu game. good pickup, the kid is torching the juco ranks lately.

 

We need his defense, Tisdale has not looked good defensively tonight. Big 10 isn't really a great league as far back to the basket players, but when Tisdale plays one, he's gonna get beat bad.

 

Why is MSU getting home cooking btw?

 

i noticed the same thing. the illini don't get calls when driving to the basket, but the spartans do? oh well, they wouldn't make those ft's anyway.

i can take some consolation knowing that the illini would be in the middle of the pack in the big ten if they were an average free throw shooting team.

 

That offers me no consolation. Just makes me sadder. Trailing at the half 5 times all year. Just a painful year of basketball.

UConn lost to Providence! ND now just needs to beat USF to clinch the 3 seed in the Big East, which has the double positive of allowing us to get WV/Seton Hall instead of Marquette in the 2nd round of the Big East tourney as well as ensuring that I won't miss ND's 2nd round game (I'll be in Cleveland for the MAC tourney and had no chance of catching the 2:00 slot ND would've played in as the 4).

why do you recruit people who are so bad at shooting? why? i mean, do you expect to win with a bunch of bad shooters who give it 100% every time. this illini team shows exactly what effort will get you if you don't have a lick of basketball ability.

Probably isn't called that often with the game on the line but it was a foul on Hill.

That was only the second most important Pac-10 game of the night. The most important one went perfectly as well...

That was completely clean. He got 100% ball up top, was totally vertical and made minimal, if any contact with the body. I don't see how that was a foul. It was hard to tell live from the angle they had, but when they showed the X-mo replay later I saw no foul.

 

Stanford should have won that game. They controlled it for 39+ minutes, then gave up some big offensive rebounds and every deflection, bounce and loose ball seemed to come up in UCLA's lap late. It didn't help that they made some bad decisions and Lopez forced some bad shots early in the shot clock when they had a two possession lead.

Yes, this is what happened and UCLA was given the game. You can't draw up what the defender did any better than how he did it. I couldn't care less who won the game, but Stanford got robbed.
