IU/Illinois tonight. I'm ready for this game to be over with so everyone (or many) can move on.

IU is better, but I honestly expect Illinois to win. IU hasn't played well of late, especially on the road, and Illinois will be highly motivated. Plus, seeing as this is a Big Ten game, I expect Gordon to have two fouls during warmups.

yeah, i expect a loss for the reasons you stated, namely that they're not playing well recently. regardless of fouls, i don't expect a lot from Gordon tonight. he is human and i think he'll be affected by the situation and the crowd.

Gordon is a pro. I expect him to tune it out. I bet he plays well and you win by 10 plus. We are terrible.

i guess we'll find out. honestly, more than the gordon situation, i'm worried about how IU will play defensively against Randle and Pruit. DJ can't guard both of them.

Foul them. the two of them shoot a combined 57% from the free throw line. In a way I am almost gald I am playing basketball tonight instead of watching this game. It should mean something, but we are so damn bad I have a hard time watching us play. Here is a breakdown of what will happen.

Illinois will come out hot. Build up a 10 point lead. In spite of Chester Frazier starting over the much more talented Demetri McCamey.

Randle will pick up his third foul a good 45 ft. from the basket with 10 minutes left in the half.

IU will get within 5 by halftime.

Illinois will go 10 minutes without a field goal.

IU will take the lead.

Weber will call timeout and draw up a play on his face with his dry erase marker.

IU will push lead to 8.

Illinois will start making a couple threes, once we finally get McCamey, Tisdale, and Meachum in together.

Illinois gets within 2.

Illinois misses a ton of freethrows.

IU makes there free throws.

IU wins by 10.

Illiniguy contemplates driving to Champaign to kill Bruce Weber.

Ugh, WSU is ridiculously located. It took UCLA 11 hours to get to their team hotel in Moscow, ID despite chartering a flight to Pullman-Moscow airport for the first time ever (because of a blizzard, they were forced to land in Lewiston, ID).

Anyways, with Luc out and the game being in Pullman, I expect UCLA will lose. :(

Too calm in here.

Gordon's dad is bringing the whole family along with extra security to the game for no apparent reason. You thought Earl Woods was bad.

Last I read (this morning) was that they weren't going to have extra security. Either way, why would he bring the whole family to this game? That's just asking for trouble.

If only he could've went to school somewhere close to Indianpolis. Then they could've watched him in the comfort of his home arena.

Just don't pull an Oregon, Illini fans.

So they're supposed to skip a nearby road game because some douches in orange shirts can't handle the fact he didn't pick their school? C'mon. Everybody needs to get over this thing. Yes, UI got screwed. And that sucks. But to say the kid's family has no right to travel to see their kid play because of it is lame.

I woudln't have said a peep if daddy death threat came by himself as he does to IDKWTI's home games. Loading up the van and taking the family to this game rather than any of the home games is slightly peculiar wouldn't you say?

I don't know what that means. I'm not worried about anything physical happening to dear ol dad. I doubt anything is said any worse than IU fans chanting f*** you refs at their last game.

Perhaps. Maybe he feels like EJ will need more support given the likelihood of a very hostile environment. Maybe he is just an attention whore. In the end, it really doesn't matter, as he and his family have every right to travel to any game they want to.

I think the whole EJ thing has gotten to the point where it reflects badly on the UI die-hard fanbase. Of course, the message board fan is always a bit loonier than the average one, no matter the school.

I'm guessing being a KU fan you didn't need anything with IDKWTI to come up in order to think poorly of UI fans.

I've seen enough of this story to know that Daddy death threat is an attention whore. I will concede it is plausible that he's bringing others to show support for him, but I did get a quote somewhere(peegs maybe?) about him saying that he hopes he doesn't wind up on sportscenter for having to take things into his own hands tonight. I mean come on old man. What are you going to do when this gravy train ends? Follow IDKWTI from city to city in the NBA doing his interviews for him, saying that the Raptors fans mumbled something racist about you?

Oregon fans threw a lot of insults at Kevin Love and his dad, uncle and 13-year old sister (a lot of it was your garden variety insults and booing but there was about 10 minutes of really disgusting homophobic and mental health insults that really drew the ire of Pac-10 officials and Ben Howland and created a major controversy). They also spat on Kevin's sister and dad and hit his uncle repeatedly with signs.

Of course Kevin Love never really even considered Oregon, his top 3 were UCLA, UNC and Duke.

can't wait to cash in on all my bets with friends and teachers.

In response to your earlier question, yes, I'm a huge UNC fan. In response to this quotation, people actually bet against Duke in this game? Much as it pains me to admit it, Duke is probably a better team than UNC WITH Ty Lawson, at least until UNC starts playing some defense. Without him, I'm surprised we were only down by five with a minute and a half or so to go.

Actually, believe it or not, I'm encouraged by this game. It always sucks to lose to Duke, but it seems pretty clear to me that if Ty Lawson had been running the point rather than Quentin Thomas (who really shouldn't be running the show), we would have won. I don't know if we'll win in Cameron, but I still like our chances.

I thought Quentin Thomas played fairly well yesterday, but I agree that Lawson would have been much better. The thing that would help the most, IMO, with Lawson coming back is taking some of the defensive attention away from Ellington and Green.

Lol, true on the first bolded part.

And yeah, the second bolded part is pretty lame.

Just win the game tonight and spend the last 5 minutes of game time chanting "wrong decision clap clap clap-clap-clap." You'll feel better.

The one thing IU has done (and Sampson in general) is beat the teams they should beat. They haven't beaten them by as much as you might think, but they have won. I'm not predicting anything, but this is not a game where a loss should be assumed.
