Some news:

Denver Broncos wide receiver Javon Walker needs another surgery on his right knee, the one he tore up in the 2005 opener for Green Bay that caused him to miss the entire season.

Walker will have an operation Friday in Houston and will be out "for a few weeks," coach Mike Shanahan said Thursday.

"Javon's not feeling very good," Shanahan said.

I cant believe the o/u of the Miami-New England game is so high at 51.5. Thats absurd considering they are expecting NE to score the majority of those points. Ive got 50 bucks on the under, which seems about as safe as a bet as Ive ever placed.

I don't see how that's so crazy. New England hasn't scored below 34 points all year, and Miami's offense has been getting better Miami has scored less than 17 points only 1 time this year, and that was in week 1. It could easily be a 38-17 final.

Miami also traded their number 1 receiver this week too. Miami will try running as much as possible to try and keep Brady off the field.

Not to mention Brady has historically struggled at Miami.

I hope the Raiders game isn't blacked out out here.

Are close enough to Oakland to be blacked out if they don't sell out ?

That's ridiculous if the Sacramento area is going to get blacked out because the Raiders can't sell out in Oakland.

Yeah, it would be blacked out if they didn't sell out. I'll probably be able to find out at work tonight.

I really hate how teams do that. Do they not take into consideration the fact that a lot of people probably can't afford to go to the game? Even if they just don't care about that, the fact that they're saying "well if you don't watch us in person, I'm not going to let you watch us on TV!" is just so stupid.

It's not the teams fault. It's NFL rules that the game has to be blacked out within a certain amount of miles if the game doesn't sell out. Each individual team would like nothing better than for every game to be on locally, because blackouts can cause the team to lose some fans.

I really don't think blackouts are necessary in the NFL, but it is definitely the league's decision, not the teams.

its particularly stupid in large urban areas that have no natural reason to root for one team or the other. Seems like most people cheer for the raiders here, but if they aren't on, they can just as easily cheer for the 49ers or some other random team.

Sacramento's pretty split when it comes to the bay area teams

Yeah, I wouldn't say there's a majority for one team over the other. It probably just depends if one team is good and the other stinks.

It sure is fun being a Dolphins fan. Masterful drive against the Patriots, and the ensuing kickoff is returned for a touchdown.

With the Cubs, the Lakers, the Arkansas football team, and the Dolphins on my side, I should just quit sports for a year.
