What's with all the empty seats in Jacksonville tonight? They have a good team this year, and it's MNF.

Florida sucks for pro sports

Is Kornheiser really going to subject us to his stupid "Hello? I'm still here!" opinion over & over again all damn night?

Christ, we get it. You think people have forgotten Peyton Manning. They haven't. Now shut the hell up!

My God is he bad. This booth is completely unlistenable.

They are not very good fans. IIRC they had their home opener blacked out this season.

No, the home opener was aired--too bad they played like crap.

Is Jacksonville's D really this bad? Or is it just a result of facing Peyton Manning?
The pass rush is is suspect, as is the depth in the secondary, but the offense isn't giving them any time to catch their breath tonight.

Someone mentioned that the Jags have blocked off a whole section of seats to decrease the capacity of the stadium so they can hopefully sell out more games. I saw a wide shot of the stadium and it looks like the 2nd level of one of the end zones is indeed empty.

That's pretty bad. NFL football, you have a playoff contending team and can't sell out your house? Wow.

I think it's pretty much decided that Florida has the most lackluster fan support in the nation, right? At least in pro sports? I used to think it was Los Angeles, but that's wrong -- they'll support if the team is good.

I'm not going to deny that we are a college first state, but Jax is a small market with a huge stadium.

Are we too small to deserve a team? maybe.

when will pro sports learn? stop putting teams in florida. Baseball, hockey and football already have more teams than they should have there.

+1

No offense FloridaCubbie, but the state has proven it won't support pro sports to any reasonable degree. College? That appears to be different.

i came here to post the same thing. the idea that the colts are "flying under the radar" is a joke. they won the damn superbowl last year, how can you be overlooked. my god, i actually had to turn the game off last night because i couldn't stand hearing about this nonsense. i normally like tony on pti but he was brutal last night.

Just bring the Jags to LA (Pasadena, plz). There are already a bunch of Maurice Drew Jaguars jerseys.

the "pro teams per sq. mile" have to be pretty high down there. Massachusetts is probably highest though. Still:

NFL: Miami, Jacksonville, Tampa

MLB: Miami, Tampa

NBA: Miami, Orlando

NHL: Miami, Tampa

That's 9 pro teams. California has 14. Texas has 8
