I bet Marmol pitches the 7th and 8th now. It's weird because he has become like a 2 inning guy. Really weird to have him coming in for a 5 run lead. But I am not complaining.

Wow, Soto man. I can't help it but I have to say it. Hendry is an idiot. It took him wayyy too long to get rid of some of the scrubs(Hill,Izturis) on this time and bring up some of the minor leaguers deserving to be on this team. And to let's drop a cherry on top by losing prospects(Blevins).

 

For months they let him sit in the minors. Months.

 

Can't tell me that didn't hurt us. Aren't they supposed to see a good player and recognize that? I mean he only won the MVP of the damn league they put him in and we were desperate for a good player at his position.

the crowd reaction to soto's homer was funny, there was the initial "oooh aaah" that you always hear on a fly ball, followed by some quieting when people thought he got under it too much, then the roar when it settled into the 2nd row of the bleachers.

 

On days like today, Soto HAS to start. Kendall does not elevate the ball the way that Soto does; starting Kendall with the wind blowing in is not quite as big a deal, but with it blowing out you need guys who have the potential to put the ball over the fence.

 

not to mention Soto can play defense... anyone that can hit better than Kendall is an improvement behind the plate... I think it helps to keep Jason on the team though because he comes up with some clutch hits...

That's why I don't like Hendry. If most fans can tell when it's time to bring a player up and your GM lets him rot in the minors what does that say about his expertise? How long did it take for us to get rid of Izturis or K Hill? There's no excuse for it, not from a MLB GM.
