I usually complain about off days, and I don't know if the Cubs need one right now, but I think I need it! That was some high stress.

Now let's hold on Lidge!

oh crap they face Zach "Cub Killah" Duke this weekend :(

THEY'RE GOING TO KICK HIS ASS!!! WE'RE UNSTOPPABLE!!!

Cubs are only unstoppable until their next loss. Then the season's over again, just like it was yesterday.

I'm going to make the most of their most recent unstoppable streak.

I honestly feel that the Cubs are lucky to win this series. Overall, they played terribly. Bunting, fielding, missed opportunities on offense... All of it. A much needed off-day tomorrow.

I was standing outside the right field peep-hole again tonight; a few notes:

Dunn MURDERED that HR. holy crap. It landed ACROSS the street, bounced off either the sidewalk, or at least the far side of the street, bounced off the building across from wrigley, then came back on the street. I missed catching it on the ricochet by about a foot. Some jerkass ran by me with a glove and grabbed it, then took off down the street. They threw a friggin tennis ball back.

I said lots of bad words to him.

EDIT: Also, was Dunn's HR an important one tonight? Cause after that moron ran off down the street with the ball, some Wrigley officials came out and asked who had caught it, cause Dunn wanted the ball and was willing to "trade"

Also, the atmosphere out there was insane. by the end of the game there were literally about 20-30 people standing outside right field. the most I've seen at any other point is maybe about 10. MAYBE.

It was his 40th, and his 4th straight year with 40 (a Reds record)

I don't know if that is worth trading for though.

The only highlight ESPN News is showing of this game is Murton's game winning hit

Not Yankees/Red Sox. See the bottom-right ticker?

Since Lou likes to ride the hot hand, I'm hoping we see a lot more of Soto than Kendall down the stretch. Nothing against the job Kendall has done, but Soto has been awesome.

I like that Geo looked just annoyed at Hopper trying to knock the ball out. Swatted him like a fly. Then let the mask slide off a bit to show off his lucious locks and his chiseled face. Get this man a modeling contract or something.

in the post game interview, Lou was being asked about Soto and Lou said how he's done a nice job and how he could use some power at the bottom of the lineup. I got a warm fuzzy thinking maybe we would be seeing him more.

then someone asked directly 'is there any reason to think that Soto will get more playing time down the stretch.' Lou responded something like 'there's no reason to say that' or something to that effect. either I didn't hear the question, Lou didn't hear the question, Lou mixed up his words in response to the question, or Lou's an idiot and everything was heard and said perfectly clear.

hope that clears up Soto's potential playing time for everyone. just kidding. did anyone hear this exchange more clearly than I did?

Please. He's too good for a modeling contract. He should be having Angelina Jolie's next baby any minute now.

He'd have to, because Angelina wouldn't survive childbirth in her 70 pound state.
